Information for use with Nicorette chewing gum whitemint 4 mg: - Nicorette chewing gums contain nicotine, which is used to treat tobacco dependence. - They work by relieving withdrawal symptoms and supporting smoking cessation. - The chewing gums can also be used to reduce cigarette consumption in order to achieve smoking cessation. - The recommended dosage for adults is 1 gum per hour, with a maximum of 16 gums per day. - For heavily tobacco dependent smokers who smoked more than 20 cigarettes per day prior to treatment. - The chewing gums should be chewed slowly and with pauses to release the nicotine. - The duration of use is usually at least 3 months. - Possible side effects include increased salivation, irritation of the mouth and throat, hiccups, reddening of the skin and hives. - The chewing gums should be kept out of the reach of children and protected from light. - In case of overdose, nausea, headache, breathing difficulties and circulatory problems may occur. - Consult a doctor or pharmacist if you have any questions about use or if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
