Instructions for use of the article Suprasorb A+Ag Antimicrobial Calcium Alginate Compresses 5x5: Suprasorb A+Ag is a wound dressing containing a combination of natural calcium alginate and antimicrobial silver. This dressing is particularly suitable for heavily exuding and infected wounds. Contact with wound exudate releases silver ions which can exert their antimicrobial effect directly on the wound surface. Suprasorb A+Ag covers a broad antimicrobial spectrum and is effective against MRSA and VRE. The dressing can also be used in clinically manifest infections. Bacteria and germs are trapped in the gel and killed. Suprasorb A+Ag promotes wound healing due to its high exudate absorption capacity and good adherence to the wound bed. The dressing change intervals should be determined by the attending physician and are usually between 5 and 7 days. Suprasorb A+Ag can be used for various wounds, such as ulcers, burns, split skin removal sites and post-operative wounds. The compress size is 5 cm x 5 cm.
