Description

This medicine is an analgesic and anti-inflammatory agent that belongs to the group of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs/anti-inflammatory drugs.It is used for mild to moderate pain and fever.No prescription is required for this product.

Active ingredients and ingredients

The main active ingredient of this preparation is ibuprofen in a dosage of 400 mg per film-coated tablet.In addition, it contains various excipients such as carboxymethyl starch, sodium salt type A, hypromellose, macrogol 400, macrogol 6000, magnesium stearate (vegetable), corn starch and sodium ions.These excipients contribute to the stability and delivery of the active ingredient.

Contraindications

Do not take this medicine if you are allergic to ibuprofen or any of the other ingredients.It is also not suitable for people with certain pre-existing illnesses or in special life situations.These include allergic reactions to acetylsalicylic acid or other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs in the past, unexplained blood formation disorders, existing or recurrent gastrointestinal ulcers or bleeding, a history of gastrointestinal bleeding or perforation, cerebral hemorrhage or other active bleeding, severe liver or kidney dysfunction, severe heart failure, the last trimester of pregnancy and in children under 20 kg (6 years of age).

Dosage

The dosage depends on the weight and age of the patient.For children between 20 kg and 29 kg (6 to 9 years), the single dose is half a film-coated tablet (200 mg ibuprofen), with a maximum daily dose of one and a half film-coated tablets (600 mg ibuprofen).Children between 30 kg and 39 kg (10 to 12 years) also receive half a film-coated tablet per dose, but a maximum of two film-coated tablets per day (800 mg ibuprofen).Adults and adolescents aged 12 and over who weigh more than 40 kg can take half to one whole film-coated tablet (200 to 400 mg ibuprofen), although the maximum daily dose should not exceed three film-coated tablets (1200 mg ibuprofen).There should be at least a six-hour gap between doses.

The medicine should not be taken for longer than four days without medical or dental advice.It is important to use the lowest effective dose for the shortest duration necessary.If symptoms persist or worsen, a doctor should be consulted.

In case of overdose, you should contact a doctor or hospital immediately.Symptoms of overdose may include nausea, stomach pain, vomiting, headache, ringing in the ears, confusion, and trembling eyes.In severe cases, drowsiness, dizziness, chest pain, heart palpitations, fainting, convulsions, blood in the urine, freezing, and breathing problems may occur.There is no specific antidote, so immediate medical treatment is required.

If you forget to take a dose, do not take more than the usual recommended amount at the next dose.If you have any further questions about taking it, contact your doctor or pharmacist.

Intake

The film-coated tablets should be swallowed whole with plenty of liquid, such as a glass of water, during or after a meal.Patients with a sensitive stomach should take the medicine with meals to avoid possible stomach irritation.

Patient information

It is important to speak to your doctor or pharmacist if you have an infection or certain pre-existing conditions.Elderly patients should be monitored particularly carefully as they are at higher risk of side effects.Concomitant use with other nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs should be avoided to minimize the risk of gastrointestinal bleeding and ulcers.

Ibuprofen may slightly increase the risk of heart attack or stroke, especially at high doses.Patients with heart disease, high blood pressure, diabetes or high cholesterol should discuss taking it with their doctor.Severe skin reactions are possible and if a rash or other signs of allergy occur, you should stop taking it immediately and consult a doctor.

Ibuprofen may mask signs of infection such as fever and pain, which may result in a delay in appropriate treatment.If symptoms of infection persist or worsen, you should see a doctor.The use of ibuprofen should be avoided during a chickenpox infection.

In the case of certain congenital blood formation disorders or autoimmune diseases, ibuprofen should only be used after careful consideration of the benefit-risk ratio. Regular monitoring of liver values, kidney function and blood counts is necessary if taken for a long time.Patients with bleeding disorders should be carefully monitored.

Prolonged use of painkillers may cause headaches, which should not be treated with increased doses.Habitual use of painkillers can cause permanent kidney damage.Ibuprofen can impair fertility in women, but this effect is reversible once the drug is discontinued.

Since ibuprofen can cause tiredness and dizziness in higher doses, the ability to react can be impaired.In this case, you should avoid driving vehicles or operating machines.Alcohol can increase this effect.

Pregnancy

If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before using this medicine.Ibuprofen must not be used in the last trimester of pregnancy due to an increased risk of complications for mother and child.In the first two thirds of pregnancy you should only take it after consulting your doctor.During breastfeeding, ibuprofen only passes into breast milk in small quantities, so interrupting breastfeeding is usually not necessary for short-term use.However, for prolonged use or higher doses, early cessation of breastfeeding should be considered.
