Application and composition

The electrolyte infusion solution 153 with glucose 5 is used to treat isotonic and hypotonic dehydration.It can also be used for fluid and electrolyte replacement therapy for balanced acid-base balance and mild acidosis.It is also suitable as a carrier solution for compatible electrolyte concentrates and medications.

One liter of the solution contains the following active ingredients: sodium chloride 5.26 g, potassium chloride 0.37 g, calcium chloride dihydrate 0.37 g, magnesium chloride hexahydrate 0.3 g, sodium acetate trihydrate 6.8 g and glucose monohydrate 55.0 g.The concentrations of the ions in mmol/l are as follows: Na+ 140, K+ 5, Ca2+ 2.5, Mg2+ 1.5, Cl- 103 and Acetate 50. In addition, the solution contains water for injections and hydrochloric acid 36%.

Contraindications

The electrolyte infusion solution must not be used in hyperhydration, severe congestive heart failure, severe renal insufficiency with oliguria or anuria, as well as severe generalized edema and metabolic alkalosis.
