Description

The medicine is a sterile gel that replaces tears.It is used to treat “dry eye” and to replace tear fluid when the surface of the eye is insufficiently or inadequately moistened.No prescription is required for this product.

Active ingredients and ingredients

The active ingredient in this medicine is carbomer with a concentration of 2.1 mg.It also contains the excipients sodium hydroxide, sorbitol and purified water.

Application

The medicine is used for use on the eyes.Unless otherwise prescribed, the recommended dosage is one drop instilled into the conjunctival sac four times daily or as needed.The preparation is also suitable for long-term use.For use during a contact lens examination, a few drops of the gel are dripped into the haptic part of the contact lens and this is placed on the cornea and conjunctiva after anesthesia.

If you use more than intended, rinse the eye with lukewarm water.No side effects are to be expected.Do not reapply until it is time for the next scheduled application.

Application instructions

The single-dose container must be held vertically so that the drop is released according to gravity.This technique prevents the drop size from exceeding the capacity of the conjunctival sac and causing the eyelashes to stick together.Separate the single-dose container from the strip by gently twisting and pulling.Hold the single-dose container by the label side and tap down the eye gel until it is in front of the opening.Twist off the cap to create the clean drip hole.Tilt your head back slightly, look upwards and pull your lower eyelid away with the index finger of your free hand.Hold the single-dose container vertically over the eye and press lightly with your fingers until a drop is released without the drip opening coming into contact with the eye or the edge of the eyelid.

Patient information

Only use the gel to drip into your eye(s).If you experience eye pain, changes in vision, eye irritation, persistent eye redness, or if the condition worsens or persists, you should stop use and consult your doctor.After use, excess gel should be removed from the eyelashes or eyelids to avoid possible crust formation due to drying carbomer.If you wear contact lenses, you should not use contact lenses during therapy.The effectiveness and safety in children and adolescents up to 18 years of age is based on clinical experience; there are no data from clinical studies.

Slight blurred vision may occur for a short time after using the eye gel.You should only drive a car, work without a secure footing or operate machines again once this impairment has subsided.

If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before using this medicine.The medicine can be used during pregnancy and breastfeeding if used properly.

Notes

Depending on the severity of the condition, relief from symptoms lasts around 3-4 hours.The medicine should not be used while wearing contact lenses.The eye gel is particularly suitable for patients with intolerance to preservatives.Since the gel does not contain any preservatives, the preparation is only intended for one-time use (immediately after opening the container).
