Hyperevaporative form of dry eye

In this form of dry eye, there is a disruption in the lipid components of the tear film.The meibomian glands, which are located on the edge of the eyelid, produce a secretion that prevents excessive evaporation of the tear film and stabilizes it.Impaired function of the meibomian glands and impairment of the lipid layer lead to a disturbed tear film and thus to dry eyes.

Meibomian gland dysfunction

The meibomian glands are sebaceous glands on the edge of the eyelids.When they are dysfunctional, they become clogged or inflamed, which impairs the production of the lipid layer of the tear film.This causes the tear film to evaporate more quickly, which can lead to dry eyes.Watery eyes can be an indication of meibomian gland dysfunction.

Innovative combination of active ingredients

The tear film consists of three layers: an outer lipid layer, a watery middle layer, and an inner mucin layer.The mucin layer ensures that the tear film adheres to the surface of the cornea.The aqueous layer contains water, nutrients, hyaluronic acid and oxygen to supply the surface of the eye.The outer lipid layer, produced by the meibomian glands, prevents tear fluid from evaporating and stabilizes the tear film.

HYLOVIS® LIPO acts on all three layers of the tear film immediately after application through the combination of hyaluronic acid and selected lipids.The lipids close the gaps in the lipid layer and thus stabilize the tear film, which can alleviate the symptoms of dry eyes.

Application

Wash your hands thoroughly before use.Unscrew the cap, tilt your head back and hold the drip opening over the eye to be treated.With the index finger of one hand, pull down the lower eyelid of the eye and release a drop of the HYLOVIS® LIPO solution by gently squeezing the bottle.Drip 1-2 drops into the conjunctival sac as needed without touching the dropper tip with your eye or fingers.The solution is distributed by blinking your eyes.Shake off any remaining drops on the dropper tip with a quick hand movement.Replace the protective cap on the bottle after each use.

The causes of dry eyes can be varied.They can be due to external influences such as dry environments, air conditioning, ozone or dust, internal influences such as diabetes, rheumatic diseases or hormonal changes, as well as the use of certain medications.The composition of the tear film is often disturbed and therefore evaporates more quickly, which is often due to meibomian gland dysfunction.

The dosage bottle should be used within 4 months of first opening.After the expiry date, HYLOVIS® LIPO must no longer be used.

The difference between HYLOVIS® LIPO multi and HYLOVIS® LIPO lies in the dosage form. HYLOVIS® LIPO multi is offered as a multi-dose bottle of 10 ml, while HYLOVIS® LIPO is available as practical single-dose ampoules of 0.4 ml.However, the formulation of the solution contained is the same in both dosage forms.
