With Frontline® Spray you can effectively protect your dogs and cats from fleas, ticks and lice.The spray is easy to use and is characterized by high tolerability and safety for humans and animals.No prescription is required for this product.

Area of application

Frontline® Spray is a veterinary medicine used to prevent, treat and control ticks, fleas and ticks in dogs and cats.It can also be used to treat flea bite allergy.

Ticks and fleas can not only cause skin diseases such as allergies, but can also transmit dangerous infectious diseases.Frontline® Spray provides reliable protection for your pets and prevents parasites from being introduced into your home.

Frontline® Spray is highly selective in its effect and, when used correctly, does not harm dogs or humans.It kills over 95% of fleas within 24 hours and over 90% of ticks within 48 hours.The active ingredient works as soon as it comes into contact with the animal's skin, without the need for pricking.

The amount of active ingredient can be adjusted precisely to the weight of the animal, which enables individual application.Frontline® Spray can be used on puppies from their first day of life.

Mode of action

After application, the active ingredient is stored in the animal's sebaceous glands and is continuously released into the fur and skin along with the sebum.For optimal distribution, the animal should not be bathed for 48 hours before and after treatment.

Parasites absorb the active ingredient through the shell when they come into contact with fur and skin and are thereby killed.Physical contact with the treated animal is harmless once the fur has dried.

1 ml Frontline® Spray contains fipronil 2.5 mg as an active ingredient.Other ingredients include isopropyl alcohol 0.8 ml, copovidone 20 mg and purified water.

Contraindications

Frontline® Spray must not be used on sick or convalescent animals.Animals with skin lesions, especially in the back area, should also not be treated.Use in rabbits can lead to intolerance and, in the worst case, death.Frontline® Spray must not be used on animals used for food production.

Dosage

Frontline® Spray should be used regularly to ensure complete protection.The effectiveness against adult fleas lasts for up to 3 months in dogs and up to 6 weeks in cats, and against ticks for up to 4 weeks.

To use it, choose a well-ventilated room or take the animal outside.Wear disposable gloves and, depending on the length of the fur, spray 6 to 12 pumps per kilogram of body weight onto the fur and skin at a distance of approx. 10 cm.Massage the active ingredient solution into the skin with your gloved hand.

To treat the head, apply some spray solution to your gloved hand and rub it over the animal's face, avoiding the eyes and nose.Then let the animal air dry.

Questions & Answers

Why do I still see ticks after treatment?

Frontline® Spray kills over 90% of ticks within 48 hours.However, it may happen that live ticks are temporarily visible on the animal and have newly infested the animal.These are killed as soon as sufficient active ingredient has penetrated the shell and can then be easily removed.

Why do I still see fleas after treatment?

Frontline® Spray kills over 95% of fleas within 24 hours.As soon as fleas are discovered on the animal, the eggs, larvae and pupae have usually already spread to the surrounding area.The adult fleas on the animal only make up about 5% of the flea infestation.New fleas can always develop from the flea brood, so the entire flea cycle must be broken in order to get rid of the plague.This can take several months.The flea brood can infest the entire home environment.It is therefore recommended to clean the environment mechanically by vacuuming and washing the affected textiles every day and to kill the flea spawn using suitable insecticides.

Do I brush Frontline® out of the fur when I comb the animal?

With routine grooming, the effectiveness of Frontline® is not expected to be impaired.

What happens if my animal grooms itself after use?

After licking the solution, temporary increased salivation may occur, which is mainly caused by an unpleasant taste of the carrier substances.

What happens if I accidentally spray too much on my pet?

Frontline® is mainly stored in the upper layers of the skin; absorption through the skin is negligible.Therefore, no symptoms of poisoning are to be expected even in the event of overdose.

How many treatments is a 100 ml spray bottle enough for?

With a 100 ml spray bottle, one pump contains 0.5 ml of active solution.One bottle therefore contains approx. 200 sprays.

What should I do if I get my hands on the Frontline® solution?

Wash your hands with soap and be careful not to rub the solution into the mucous membranes.Then contact your family doctor and the manufacturer of Frontline® and report the accidental exposure.

How long do I have to wait after the treatment before I can pet my animal again?

As with any medicine applied to the skin, as a precautionary measure it is recommended that children or adults do not pet the treated animal until the fur has dried.It is best to treat the animals in the early evening so that the fur can dry overnight.After drying, contact is harmless.

Does Frontline® also help against mites?

Frontline® is approved to kill fleas, ticks and lice.Use to combat other parasites may only be carried out on the advice of the treating veterinarian and under veterinary supervision.Since most of the mites that can affect our four-legged friends are not visible to the naked eye, a veterinary examination is necessary to find out which species of mite it is.

What are Haarlinge?
