Zinc oil BW is a suspension for application to the skin and contains the active ingredient zinc oxide.This preparation serves as a wound healing agent and is used externally.It is suitable for covering the skin of wound edges such as ulcers and erosions.It can also be used for irritation and redness of the skin in the intertrigenous area, in the diaper area and at the transition area between skin and mucous membrane, for example in the mouth, anus or genital area.It can also be used for fissures and rhagades.

100 Grams of the suspension contains 50 grams of zinc oxide as an active ingredient.Another ingredient is virgin olive oil.

Area of application

Zinc oil BW is used externally to cover the skin of wound edges such as ulcers and erosions.It can be used for irritation and redness of the skin in the intertrigenic area, in the diaper area and at the transition area between skin and mucous membrane, for example in the mouth, anus or genital area.It can also be used for fissures and rhagades.

Contraindications

Zinc oil BW must not be used if you are hypersensitive or allergic to zinc oxide or the other ingredient olive oil.

Dosage

Always use zinc oil BW exactly according to the instructions in the package leaflet.If you are unsure, please ask your doctor or pharmacist.Unless otherwise prescribed, the suspension is applied to the affected skin areas one to several times a day.The duration of use is in principle not limited.However, please note the information in the patient instructions.If you have the impression that the effect is too strong or too weak, please talk to your doctor or pharmacist.If you use more than recommended and you experience symptoms, please notify your doctor.

Intake

Before using zinc oil BW you should shake the suspension well.Apply the suspension to the affected skin areas one to several times a day.Please note that the zinc oxide contained can get stuck in the laundry and be difficult to remove.Therefore, cover the treated wound area with a gauze pad, plaster or bandage.

Patient information

Particular caution is required when using zinc oil BW if the symptoms described occur more frequently.In this case you should consult your doctor or pharmacist.There is no experience that indicates an impairment of the ability to drive or use machines.

Zinc oil BW can be used during pregnancy and breastfeeding if used as intended and following the dosage instructions.Before using any medicines, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice.

Notes

Please do not use this medicine after the expiry date stated on the pack or outer packaging.The expiry date refers to the last day of the specified month.
