The mild Pinimenthol® cold balm was developed for children aged 2 and over.This balm is intended for rubbing on the chest and/or back and contains pharmaceutically effective eucalyptus and pine needle essential oils.Pine needle oil is known for its antiseptic and secretion-promoting effects.In combination with the anti-inflammatory and expectorant eucalyptus oil, the balm offers effective support for colds.The pleasant smell of the essential oils promises speedy improvement, and rubbing the chest and back is perceived by the little patients as a soothing ritual.

Pinimenthol® cold balm mild is a herbal medicine that is used for respiratory diseases with viscous mucus due to a cold.The balm can be used both for inhalation and external use.No prescription is required for this product.

Mode of action

The substances contained in Pinimenthol® mild cold balm act as a natural mixture of several plants.They promote blood circulation and loosen mucus.Eucalyptus stimulates the fine hairs of the upper respiratory tract to move faster, which means stuck-on mucus can be removed more easily.This makes coughing easier and reduces coughing spasms.

1 Gram of balm contains 100 milligrams of eucalyptus oil and 100 milligrams of pine needle oil.Excipients include white petroleum jelly, purified water, isopropyl myristate, microcrystalline hydrocarbons (C40-C60), macrogol cetyl stearyl ether 12, glycerol monostearate 40-55, glycerol 85%, cetostearyl alcohol, ceteareth-12, levomenthol, disodium edetate-2 water and sodium edetate.

Contraindications

Pinimenthol® cold balm mild should not be used if you are known to be hypersensitive to any of the ingredients, during pregnancy and breastfeeding, in children under 2 years of age, on damaged skin, in bronchial asthma, whooping cough, pseudocroup or in other respiratory diseases with pronounced hypersensitivity of the airways.For small children aged 2-5 years, the balm should not be applied to the face, especially around the nose.Inhalation of the balm in children under 6 years of age should not be practiced.

Dosage

Unless otherwise prescribed, adults and children aged 2 and over rub an approx. 5 cm long strand of mild Pinimenthol® cold balm onto their chest and back in the morning and evening.For inhalation, adults and children aged 6 and over place an approx. 5 cm long strand of the balm in a container with hot water in the morning and evening and inhale the vapors.

Intake

The balm is intended for use on intact skin and for inhalation.

Patient information

Particular caution is required when using the preparation.If symptoms persist for more than a week or if shortness of breath, fever, purulent or bloody sputum occurs, you should consult a doctor immediately.Contact of the drug with the eyes should be avoided.The preparation should not be used on mucous membranes.After use, your hands must be cleaned thoroughly.Due to the risk of scalding, the inhalant should not be prepared on a stove or in a microwave, should not be used on a stove, and should not be reheated after it has cooled.For safety reasons, the medicine should not be used as steam inhalation in children under 6 years of age.Even older children should not inhale without supervision.Care should be taken to ensure that children do not allow their hands to come into contact with the rubbed areas of skin.

Pregnancy

There are no sufficient studies on use during pregnancy.Therefore, this medicine should not be used during this time.

Notes

Pinimenthol® mild cold balm contains no preservatives.It is suitable for rubbing the chest and back area of children aged 2 years and over.Contact with mucous membranes should be avoided.

Application

Unless otherwise prescribed, children aged 2 years and over, adolescents and adults have their chests or backs rubbed with an approx. 5 cm long strand of ointment in the morning and evening.Pinimenthol® cold balm is also suitable for inhalation (for children aged 6 and over).Simply place a 5 cm long strand of ointment in a suitable container, add hot water - the inhalant is ready. The Pinimenthol® inhaler was developed for safe inhalation and is equipped with a protective hot water retention system and enables comfortable inhalation.For safety reasons, steam inhalation should not be performed on children under 6 years of age.

Ingredients

Active ingredients per 1 gram of cream: 100 milligrams of eucalyptus oil and 100 milligrams of pine needle oil.Other ingredients are white petroleum jelly, isopropyl myristate, microcrystalline hydrocarbons (C40-C60), ceteareth-12, glycerol monostearate 40-50%, glycerol 85%, cetostearyl alcohol, disodium edetate-2 water, levomenthol and purified water.

Inhaling made easy

With the pinimenthol inhaler, parents are doing everything right when they let their children aged 6 and over inhale.The pinimenthol inhaler is built in such a way that no hot water can leak out, even if the container tips over.It is also insulated from the outside and is easy to carry.A 5 cm long ointment strand of Pinimenthol cold ointment (for adolescents aged 12 and over) or Pinimenthol cold balm mild is sufficient for the treatment.Important tip: When inhaling, always breathe in through your mouth and out through your nose, otherwise the hot steam can cause the nasal mucosa to swell.
