Directions for use of the article Hermes Cevitt Lemon Effervescent Tablets. Hermes Cevitt Lemon Effervescent Tablets contain 1000 mg ascorbic acid (vitamin C) per tablet and are used to treat vitamin C deficiency diseases. However, certain contraindications should be noted before taking the product. The preparation must not be taken if there is an allergy to ascorbic acid or other components of the medicinal product or in the case of certain diseases such as kidney stones from oxalate and genetic disorders of haemoglobin formation. Particular caution should be exercised in persons with glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase deficiency, as severe haemolysis may occur with high vitamin C doses. For persons with kidney stone formation and severe or terminal renal insufficiency, it is recommended not to exceed the daily vitamin C intake. The effervescent tablets are taken once a day with a glass of water or tea. The duration of use should be determined in consultation with a doctor. Possible side effects include rare allergic hypersensitivity reactions of the respiratory tract and skin reactions. If side effects occur, a doctor or pharmacist should be consulted. The effervescent tablets contain sodium compounds and should therefore be considered in persons on a low-salt diet.
