Vagi C vaginal tablets are a vaginal therapeutic and are used to treat chronic or recurrent amine colpitis (bacterial vaginosis, non-specific colpitis) of mild to moderate severity. They are used to normalise the disturbed vaginal flora. The usual dose is one vaginal tablet per day, inserted deep into the vagina. A 6-day treatment is usually sufficient, but can be prolonged for more severe disorders or during pregnancy. Repeating the treatment after the period increases the healing success. Vagi C can be used daily for weeks and months. Discolouration of the underwear may occur and it is recommended to wear suitable underwear protection during treatment. Overdosage has not been reported so far. Vagi C must not be used if there is hypersensitivity to the ingredients or if there is a vaginal thrush infection. Side effects may include a burning or itching sensation in the vagina and vaginitis caused by fungi. The medicine must be kept out of the reach of children and protected from heat and moisture. It must not be used if the vaginal tablets are dark brown in colour. One pack of Vagi C vaginal tablets contains 6 tablets with 250 mg ascorbic acid (vitamin C) each and other excipients. Vagi C has a germicidal effect by lowering the pH value of the vagina and inhibits the growth and multiplication of bacteria. It should be used with caution in case of allergy to ascorbic acid (vitamin C).
