ASS Dexcel® for cardiovascular diseases
Acetylsalicylic acid is an active ingredient with a wide range of applications.The exact mechanism of action has been known for around fifty years, which has led to more individual dosages and different dosage forms. ASS Dexcel® 100 mg contains the active ingredient acetylsalicylic acid, which inhibits the sticking and clumping of blood platelets and thus prevents the formation of blood clots.
No prescription is required for this product.
Area of application
The preparation is used for unstable angina pectoris as part of standard therapy.It is also used in acute heart attacks to support standard therapy.It also serves to prevent another heart attack after the first heart attack.It is also used after surgery or procedures on arterial blood vessels, such as after an aortocoronary vein bypass or percutaneous transluminal coronary angioplasty.It also helps prevent temporary cerebral insufficiency and cerebral infarction after precursor stages have occurred.
Note: The preparation is not intended for the treatment of pain conditions.

100 mg acetylsalicylic acid, cellulose powder as an excipient and corn starch as an excipient.
Contraindications
This medicine must not be taken if you are allergic to acetylsalicylic acid, salicylates or any of the other ingredients of this medicine.It should also not be used if you are hypersensitive to certain painkillers or inflammatory drugs, acute stomach and intestinal ulcers, pathologically increased bleeding tendency, liver and kidney failure, severe heart muscle weakness and if you are simultaneously taking 15 mg or more methotrexate per week.In the last three months of pregnancy it must not be taken in a dosage of more than 150 mg acetylsalicylic acid per day.
Dosage
Always take this medicine exactly as described or as directed by your doctor or pharmacist.For unstable angina pectoris and acute myocardial infarction, a daily dose of 100 mg acetylsalicylic acid is recommended.To prevent another heart attack after the first heart attack, the recommended daily dose is 300 mg.After surgery or procedures on arterial blood vessels, a daily dose of 100 mg is also recommended.To prevent temporary insufficient blood flow in the brain and cerebral infarctions, a daily dose of 100 mg acetylsalicylic acid per day is recommended.
The medicine is intended for long-term use.The treating doctor decides on the duration of use.
If you take more than you should, dizziness and ringing in the ears, especially in children and the elderly, may be signs of serious poisoning.If you suspect an overdose, please notify your doctor immediately.
If you forget to take a dose, do not take a double dose.Continue taking it as described in the dosage instructions or as prescribed by your doctor.
Please do not interrupt or stop treatment without first discussing this with your doctor.

Intake
If possible, take the tablets after a meal with plenty of water.Do not take on an empty stomach!To treat an acute heart attack, the first tablet should be bitten or chewed.
Patient information
Please talk to your doctor or pharmacist before taking the medicine, if you are hypersensitive to other painkillers and anti-inflammatory medicines, if you are taking non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs at the same time, if you have other allergies, if you have bronchial asthma, hay fever, swollen nasal mucous membranes or chronic respiratory diseases, if you are treated at the same time with anticoagulant medicines, if you have a history of stomach and intestinal ulcers or gastrointestinal bleeding, if you have limitedLiver function, with impaired kidney function or reduced cardiovascular blood flow and before operations.
In low doses, acetylsalicylic acid reduces uric acid excretion.In patients at risk, this can potentially trigger a gout attack.If you cut or injure yourself, it may take a little longer than usual for any bleeding to stop.Medicines containing acetylsalicylic acid should not be used for a longer period of time or in higher doses without consulting your doctor.
The medicine should only be used in children and adolescents with feverish illnesses on medical advice and only if other measures do not work.If these illnesses cause prolonged vomiting, it may be a sign of Reye's syndrome, a very rare but life-threatening disease that requires immediate medical attention.
No special precautions are required regarding the ability to drive or use machines.
Pregnancy
If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine.
In the first and second trimesters of pregnancy, you may only take this medicine if your doctor tells you to.In the last three months of pregnancy, you should not take acetylsalicylic acid in a dosage of more than 150 mg per day before and during birth due to an increased risk of complications for the mother and child.You may only take acetylsalicylic acid up to 150 mg per day in the last trimester of pregnancy if your doctor orders it.
The active ingredient acetylsalicylic acid and its breakdown products pass into breast milk in small quantities.Since adverse consequences for the infant have not yet been reported, interruption of breastfeeding will generally not be necessary when using a daily dose of up to 150 mg.If higher doses are taken (over 150 mg daily dose), breastfeeding should be discontinued.
This medicine belongs to a group of medicines that may affect fertility in women.This effect is reversible after stopping the medication.

Other
ASS Due to its active ingredient content, Dexcel® 100 mg is not suitable for treating pain.Please inform your doctor or dentist before operations.Dizziness and ringing in the ears can be signs of an overdose, especially in children and elderly patients.In these cases, please notify your doctor.If the recommended dosage is exceeded, liver values may increase.Therefore, regular monitoring of liver values is necessary, especially in children.Can trigger a gout attack if uric acid levels are elevated.Use in children and adolescents with feverish illnesses only on medical advice.
