Benzaknen® Wash 5% is an antibacterial washing lotion that was specially developed for the treatment of mild acne and as a supportive therapy for moderate to severe acne.The washing lotion contains the active ingredient benzoyl peroxide (BPO) and has been clinically tested.It is particularly suitable for sensitive skin and can be used on the face as well as on large and hard-to-reach areas such as the chest, shoulders and back.Visibly improved skin appearance can be observed after just 2 weeks.

Effect of Benzaknen® Wash 5% with benzoyl peroxide (BPO)

Acne is caused, among other things, by acne bacteria.However, soap and water are not enough to fight acne-causing bacteria.Benzaknen® with benzoyl peroxide works effectively against these bacteria.In addition, it helps to gently loosen the top stratum corneum of the skin, unclog pores and reduce excess sebum.

BPO eliminates 94% of all acne bacteria (C. acnes) and is effective against pimples and blackheads.Thanks to its lipophilic properties, benzoyl peroxide penetrates the clogged pores and develops its effect there.Dead cells from the stratum corneum are loosened, clogged pores are opened and excess sebum can flow away.The skin's appearance improves and the risk of inflammation and skin irritation is reduced.In contrast to treatment with antibiotics, there is no limit to the duration of use of Benzaknen®.Benzaknen® can also be used long-term, but the average treatment duration is 4-12 weeks.

Application

Benzaknen® Wash is only intended for use on adults and adolescents aged 12 years and over.Using Benzaknen® Wash 5% against acne is simple and uncomplicated.Simply apply Benzaknen® Wash 5% 1-2 times a day to slightly damp skin.After 1-5 minutes of exposure, wash off thoroughly with clean water.The washing lotion is also suitable for large areas of use on the chest, shoulders and back.The average duration of use is 4-12 weeks.

Directions for use: Avoid dry skin.The skin can feel dry and tense, especially in the first few weeks of treatment with Benzaknen® Wash 5%.It is therefore advisable to also apply a skin-soothing moisturizer - for example from Benzacare.It can also happen that the skin reacts irritably to the active ingredient benzoyl peroxide at the beginning of the treatment.The symptoms usually go away on their own after a few days.If you have any existing symptoms, please seek medical advice.

Tip: It is best to use white towels and bed linen when treating with benzoyl peroxide, as BPO can bleach textiles.

Ingredients

Active ingredient: 1 g suspension contains: 50 mg benzoyl peroxide.Other ingredients: Carbomer 940, alpha-olefin (C14 - C16) sulfonic acid sodium salt, glycerol, acrylate copolymer, sodium hydroxide, purified water.

Contraindications

If you are known to be hypersensitive to any of the above ingredients, the product should not be used.No prescription is required for this product.

Benzaknen® Wash 5% is pH skin-neutral (5.0 - 6.0).You can obtain further Benzaknen products from your mail-order pharmacy.

Pregnancy

If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before using this medicine.There are no data on human use during pregnancy.The attending physician decides on use during pregnancy and breastfeeding after a careful risk-benefit assessment.There is no information available about the transfer into breast milk after external treatment during breastfeeding. Breastfeeding mothers should not use the product on or around the breast to avoid the infant coming into direct contact with the product.
