The nicorette® Inhaler 15 mg nicotine is a nicotine replacement therapy that supports smokers in quitting tobacco.The nicotine it contains alleviates withdrawal symptoms and helps make it easier to quit cigarettes.At the same time, the hand-to-mouth movement typical of smoking is maintained, thereby avoiding the harmful substances contained in the cigarette.The inhaler is suitable for both stopping smoking immediately and for gradually reducing cigarette consumption to help quit smoking.

One cartridge of the nicorette® Inhaler 15 mg Nicotine contains 15 mg of nicotine.Other ingredients include levomenthol, ethanol and nitrogen.

Contraindications

The nicorette® Inhaler 15 mg must not be used in cases of known hypersensitivity to one of the ingredients, allergies to nicorette and/or levomenthol, as well as in non-smokers, occasional smokers and children.

Dosage

The daily dosage of the nicorette® Inhaler 15 mg nicotine depends on previous consumption habits.To stop smoking immediately, it is recommended to use at least 3 to 4 inhalers daily in the first 12 weeks if you consume up to 20 cigarettes per day and at least 4 to 6 inhalers daily if you consume over 20 cigarettes per day.Over the following 6 to 8 weeks, the number of inhalers should be gradually reduced until only 1 inhaler is used per day.Regular use for more than 6 months is generally not recommended.

When quitting smoking gradually, the inhaler should be used between smoking cigarettes to reduce the urge to smoke and prolong the smoke-free period.The goal is to reduce smoking as much as possible.Complete smoking cessation should occur no later than 6 months after starting use.

Intake

When air is sucked in through the inhaler, the nicotine evaporates and is absorbed through the mucous membranes of the mouth and throat.The amount of nicotine released depends on the intensity and frequency of puffs.The inhaler should be used like a cigarette, with each puff absorbing less nicotine than a puff on a cigarette.Therefore, you should puff on the inhaler approximately 8 to 10 times more often than when smoking a cigarette.If withdrawal symptoms are not adequately relieved, you may want to increase the intensity and/or frequency of puffs.If you have irritation in the throat or a dry cough, you should use the product less deeply (“puffing”).At low ambient temperatures (below 15 °C), the nicotine evaporates more slowly, so more frequent inhalations are necessary.At high ambient temperatures (above 30°C), nicotine evaporates more quickly, so less frequent inhalations are recommended.

No prescription is required for this product.Please talk to your doctor or pharmacist before using the medicine if you have severe circulatory problems in the arms and legs, stable narrowing of the coronary arteries, cerebral vascular disease, severe heart failure, spasmodic narrowing of the blood vessels, inadequately treated high blood pressure, moderate to severe liver damage, severe kidney damage, acute stomach or intestinal ulcers, hyperthyroidism, blood sugar disease that is treated with insulin, tumor of the adrenal medulla, persistent pharyngealor throat diseases, asthma, bypass surgery or surgical procedures to dilate blood vessels.Your doctor will carefully weigh the risks of nicotine replacement therapy against those of continuing to smoke.Smoking immediately after using the product should be avoided to avoid a possible overdose.Children must not be treated with the medicine. Only use the product in young people under 18 years of age after consulting a doctor.Nicotine is a highly toxic substance, especially for children.Even after use, the cartridge may still contain nicotine, so the medicine must be kept out of the reach of children at all times.Effects on the ability to drive and use machines are not known.

Pregnancy

Smoking during pregnancy is associated with risks such as delayed intrauterine growth, premature birth or stillbirth.Quitting smoking completely is the most effective way to improve your health and that of your baby.Pregnant smokers should quit smoking without the help of nicotine-containing medicines.The use of the drug should only be considered after consulting your doctor and only if there is a risk of continuing to smoke.Nicotine passes into breast milk.When using the drug in therapeutic doses, nicotine levels in breast milk can be achieved, which have an effect on the child.If nicotine replacement treatment is necessary during breastfeeding, the infant should be switched to formula feeding.
