Permethrin-biomo solution 0.5% is a medicinal product for the external treatment of head hair in cases of infestation with head lice. The active ingredient permethrin belongs to the group of pyrethrins found in certain plants. The solution should be applied to the hair and spread well, the amount varying according to the fullness of the hair. After 30-45 minutes of exposure, the hair should be rinsed thoroughly with clear water. To ensure that the treatment was successful, it is advisable to carry out checks with a lice comb. The medicine should only be applied once, but reapplication may be necessary if live lice are found after 7-10 days. The solution contains the active ingredient permethrin and other excipients such as ethanol and propylene glycol. There are contraindications for use in case of hypersensitivity to the ingredients and for infants in the first 2 months of life. Side effects are rare and should be discussed with a doctor or pharmacist if they occur. The solution should be stored away from moisture.
