Directions for use of the article permethrin-biomo solution 0.5 %: The medicinal product permethrin-biomo solution 0.5 % contains the active substance permethrin and is used for the one-off external treatment of the scalp hair in cases of infestation with head lice. Permethrin belongs to the group of pyrethrins found in certain plant flowers. The solution should be applied to the hairy scalp and into the hair. The amount needed depends on the fullness of the hair. After application, the hair should be rinsed with clear water and the resistant lice eggs combed out. To ensure full effectiveness, the hair should not be washed with shampoo for the first three days after application. Checks for renewed lice infestation should be carried out several times in the following days. As a rule, a single application is sufficient; in persistent cases, a repetition of the treatment may be necessary. The medicine must not be used in children under 2 months of age. There are some contraindications, such as hypersensitivity to the ingredients or the first two months of life in newborns. Pregnant and breastfeeding women should consult their doctor. Side effects are rare but should be discussed with a doctor or pharmacist if they occur. The medicinal product must not be disposed of in waste water. It should be stored at room temperature away from heat and moisture. In addition to the active substance permethrin, the solution contains ethanol, isopropanol, propylene glycol, sodium dihydrogen phosphate dihydrate and purified water.
