The Seresto collar for cats offers your pet protection against fleas and ticks.It has a killing and defensive effect against these parasites and is particularly helpful in treating and preventing flea infestations.The collar is suitable for cats from the 10th week and can be worn for up to 8 months.

Areas of application

The Seresto collar is used to treat and prevent flea infestations in cats.It is effective against fleas and their larvae as well as against various types of ticks.The medication may also help treat flea allergy dermatitis (FAD), an allergic skin inflammation caused by flea bites.The effect against fleas lasts 7 to 8 months, while the effect against ticks lasts up to 8 months.

Mode of action

The Seresto collar contains two active ingredients: imidacloprid and flumethrin.Imidacloprid kills adult fleas and their larvae, while flumethrin repels and kills ticks.The active ingredients are embedded in the polymer matrix of the collar and are slowly and continuously released onto the natural fatty film of the cat's skin and fur.This creates a long-lasting protective layer that repels and kills parasites without them having to bite.

The Seresto collar contains the active ingredients imidacloprid and flumethrin.Additionally, it contains titanium dioxide, iron(II,III) oxide, dibutyl adipate, propylene glycol dicaprylocaprate, epoxidized soybean oil, stearic acid and polyvinyl chloride.

Contraindications

The product should not be used if the cat is hypersensitive to any of the ingredients.

Dosage

Remove the collar from the protective cover and remove any remaining plastic connections.Place the collar around your cat's neck and pull the protruding end through the tabs.Cut off any excess tape more than 2cm after the second tab.The collar should be neither too tight nor too loose; ideally two fingers fit between the collar and your cat's neck.The collar should be worn without interruption for the 8 month duration and then removed.

Application

The collar is removed from the protective cover immediately before use and placed around the cat's neck.It should not be overtightened so that two fingers can fit between the collar and the neck.The protruding end is pulled through the tabs and excess length is cut off.The collar should be worn without interruption for the 8 month duration and then removed.It should be checked regularly and adjusted if necessary.
