Instructions for use for Amflee 50 mg Spot-On for Cats, 3 pcs
Amflee® 50 mg spot-on solution for cats
Amflee® from TAD Pharma is a contact antiparasitic that is effective against ticks, fleas and lice in cats.It is easy to apply as a spot-on formulation thanks to the pipette. The pipette is optimized for direct application - without sharp edges.Alternatively, Amflee® is also available as a practical spray.Amflee® is applied directly to the animal's skin every 4 weeks and works reliably and safely.
Area of application
Amflee® 50 mg spot-on solution for cats is used to treat and prevent flea (Ctenocephalides spp.) and tick (Dermacentor reticulatus, Ixodes ricinus) infestations in cats.If your cat scratches and paws, it could be infested with lice, fleas and ticks, and other parasites. In this case, quick help is necessary, not only to relieve the itching, but also because fleas can be passed on to humans and we can then also detect small bite marks that itch terribly on our bodies.
Mode of action
The veterinary medicinal product has a persistent insecticidal effect of up to 4 weeks against fleas (Ctenocephalides felis), an acaricidal effect of up to 4 weeks against Ixodes ricinus and up to 1 week against Dermacentor reticulatus and Rhipicephalus sanguineus. If ticks (Rhipicephalus sanguineus) are already present on the animal at the time the veterinary medicinal product is applied, not all ticks may be killed within the first 48 hours, but rather within a week. The veterinary medicinal product may be used as part of a treatment plan to control flea allergy dermatitis (FAD) if previously diagnosed by a veterinarian.
Active ingredients / ingredients / ingredients
1 Pipette (0.5 ml) contains: Active ingredient: Fipronil 50 mg.Other ingredients: Butylhydroxyanisole (E320) 0.10 mg, Butylhydroxytoluene (E321) 0.05 mg, light yellow to yellow, clear solution.
Contraindications
If you are known to be hypersensitive to any of the above ingredients, this product should not be used.Do not use on kittens younger than 2 months and/or weighing less than 1 kg, as there are no studies available for this.Do not use in sick (e.g. systemic diseases, fever) or convalescent animals.Do not use on rabbits as fatal side effects may occur.Do not use if you are known to be hypersensitive to the active ingredient, dimethyl sulfoxide or any of the other ingredients.
Dosage
To ensure your own health, the effectiveness of the preparation and the well-being of your animal, you should definitely read the package leaflet before treatment.Remove the pipette from the foil packaging, hold it upright, turn the cap and remove it.Turn the cap over and place the other end back on the pipette.Press and twist the cap until the cap breaks. Then remove the cap from the pipette.Part the animal's fur between the shoulder blades so that the skin is visible.Place the pipette tip on the skin and press the pipette several times to empty the contents in 1 or 2 places directly on the skin, if possible.
The coat should be parted and the veterinary medicine applied to the skin.Temporary coat changes (clumping, greasy fur and/or deposits in the fur) may occur at the application site. They usually disappear within 24 hours. It is important to ensure that the veterinary medicinal product is applied where the animal cannot lick it off and also that animals cannot lick each other after treatment. For optimal effectiveness against flea and/or tick infestation, Amflee® should be used every 4 weeks.
Notes
Store in the original container to protect the contents from light and moisture.Do not remove from foil packaging until use.The veterinary medicinal product should be kept at room temperature (above 14°C) for approximately one hour before administration.Amflee® 50 mg spot-on solution for cats should be kept out of the reach of children. You must not use the veterinary medicinal product after the expiry date which is stated on the container and outer packaging. No prescription is required for this product.
Who is Amflee® suitable for?
Amflee® Spot-On can be used on cats aged 2 months and over and/or weighing 1kg.Dogs and kittens aged 2 days and over can be safely treated with Amflee® Spray.Amflee® should not be used in sick (e.g. systemic diseases, fever, etc.) or recovering animals.
How often should Amflee® be used?
For optimal effectiveness against flea and/or tick infestation, Amflee® should be used every 4 weeks.Monthly applications for the allergic animal and other animals in the household are also recommended as part of a treatment plan for flea allergy dermatitis.
Amflee® works purely through contact, is safe and well tolerated
Amflee® contains the proven active ingredient fipronil. This active ingredient has a selective effect on the nervous system of parasites and is harmless to humans, dogs and cats.Amflee® is only distributed over the surface of the skin and works purely through contact, which means that fleas, ticks or lice do not have to bite first for Amflee® to work.In contrast to other flea and tick treatments, Amflee® does not pose any dangers for the animal, such as getting caught in the tick collar and injuring itself.
Fleas are killed within 24 hours.Ticks are usually killed 48 hours after contact with fipronil. If ticks (Rhipicephalus sanguineus) are already present on the animal at the time the veterinary medicinal product is applied, they should be removed.
Amflee® Spot-On: Human and animal friendly pipette
Amflee® Spot-On is available in a particularly user- and animal-friendly pipette: it is easy to open without scissors and can be reclosed. Thanks to the smooth surface, the pipette has no sharp edges that could injure the animal's skin. The pipettes are available in different sizes tailored to the animal's body weight. They allow precise and economical dosing.
Tick protection
Since Amflee® is a contact poison, it does not prevent ticks from getting on the animal. If the animal was treated before an infestation, the ticks will be killed in the first 24 - 48 hours after the infestation.Killing usually occurs before bloodsucking.Once the ticks are killed, they generally fall off the animal, remaining ticks can be removed with gentle traction.
As soon as temperatures rise above 6°C, the risk of a tick infestation is particularly high, and the ticks actively crawl through the bushes. They allow themselves to be slipped onto their animal and crawl through the coat towards the skin.To prevent tick infestation, your dog or cat should be carefully checked for ticks after every walk or outdoor activity.
Flea protection
A flea infestation has nothing to do with poor grooming or hygiene!Encounters with wild animals or infected members of their species are usually enough to trigger a flea infestation. The first signs of a flea infestation can be that your animal scratches itself, reddened skin or hair loss occurs.
A single female wingless insect lays up to 50 eggs per day and lives for about 4 months. These eggs trickle out of the fur wherever the dog or cat moves. In just three to four weeks they develop into adult fleas, which in turn reproduce. With a “blood meal”, the parasite can survive for up to 2 months and fleas find ideal breeding conditions in your home: upholstered furniture and carpets are ideal for explosive reproduction. And this all year round.
After a short period of use, you may still discover fleas that have developed back into the first generation.Effective control of a flea infestation usually requires at least 3 months of continuous treatment. To optimally combat the flea problem in a household with several animals, all dogs and cats should be treated with Amflee®.
