Instructions for use for Oculotect fluid sine Pvd eye drops (120x0.4 ml)
Area of application
This ophthalmic medicine belongs to the group of tear substitutes and contains the synthetic polymer Povidone K 25 as the active ingredient. It is used for the symptomatic treatment of “dry eye” when the tear film is not sufficient or the surface of the eye is not sufficiently moistened. It can also serve as a wetting agent for hard and soft contact lenses.
Active ingredients / ingredients / ingredients
The active ingredient in this preparation is Povidone K25 in a concentration of 20 mg.The excipients include boric acid, calcium chloride 2-water, potassium chloride, magnesium chloride 6-water, sodium chloride, sodium hydroxide solution, sodium (S)-lactate solution and water, for injection purposes.
Contraindications
The preparation must not be used if you are allergic to the active ingredient Povidone K25 or any of the other ingredients of the drug.
Dosage
Always use this medicine exactly as described or as directed by your doctor or pharmacist.Unless otherwise prescribed by the doctor, the usual dose is one drop into the conjunctival sac of the affected eye up to 5 times a day or more frequently, as needed. The amount contained in the single-dose container is enough for both eyes. After use, the container must be discarded immediately.
The duration of use should be limited to 8 weeks as there is insufficient experience for longer use.Talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you think the effect is too strong or too weak.
If you accidentally use too many drops, the excess will generally flow out through the nasolacrimal duct.If you forget to use it, do so as soon as possible and then go back to your regular dosing schedule. If the preparation is not used regularly, the success of the treatment may be questioned.
If you also use other eye drops or ointments, wait at least 5 minutes between each application.Eye ointments should be used last.
Intake
The preparation is intended for use on the eyes.Tilt your head slightly backwards, pull the lower eyelid slightly downwards with the index finger of one hand and let a drop fall into the conjunctival sac by applying slight pressure to the single-dose container.
The eye drops are sterile until the original cap is opened. To avoid injury or contamination, do not bring the dropper tip into contact with the surface of the eye or any other surface.
Patient information
Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before using the product. If headache, eye pain, vision changes, eye irritation or persistent redness occur, or if dry eye irritation persists or worsens, you should stop treatment and consult your doctor.
After use, blurred vision may occur for a short time.Patients must not drive a vehicle, work without a secure footing or use tools and machines until this impairment has subsided.
Pregnancy
If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before use.
There is no sufficient experience with the use of the preparation in pregnant women. However, absorption into the entire organism is likely to be low after eye application. If necessary, use of the product during pregnancy can be considered.
After application to the eyes, only small amounts of the active ingredient pass into breast milk that no undesirable effects on the breastfed child are to be expected. You can therefore use the product while breastfeeding.
