Calcimed D3 600 mg / 400 I.U. effervescent tablets are a calcium-vitamin D3 preparation for the treatment of calcium and vitamin D3 deficiency and for the supportive therapy of osteoporosis. The effervescent tablets should be taken twice daily, one tablet in the morning and one in the evening. The recommended daily dose is 1200 mg calcium and 800 I.U. vitamin D3. The effervescent tablet is dissolved in a glass of water and drunk immediately. It is possible to take it during or between meals. Long-term intake is recommended, but the duration should be discussed with the doctor. In case of an overdose, symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, feeling thirsty, increased urine production or constipation may occur. If a dose is forgotten, do not take a double dose. A doctor or pharmacist should be consulted if there are any questions about taking or storing the medicine. The preparation must not be taken if there is hypersensitivity to the active substances or if certain contraindications exist. Side effects may include increased calcium levels, increased calcium excretion in the urine, constipation, flatulence, abdominal pain, nausea, hives, itching, skin rash and a shift in acid-base balance.
