Melgisorb Plus is a soft, highly absorbent and sterile disposable dressing made from calcium sodium alginate fibers.When it comes into contact with wound exudate or saline solution, it forms a gel that absorbs and stores the exudate.The dressing does not stick to the wound when gelled and is easy to apply.It can be cut and adapts to the wound.

Scope of application

Melgisorb Plus is suitable for absorbing and storing wound exudate.The calcium sodium alginate fibers form a gel when in contact with exudate or solutions containing sodium ions.The bandage has hemostatic properties and is soft and supple.

Precautions

Melgisorb Plus is not suitable for dry wounds, third degree burns or surgical implantations.It should not be used on heavily bleeding wounds.Persons with a known hypersensitivity to the materials or components of the product should not use the dressing.If infection is suspected, local healthcare professional routines should be followed.The bandage is a disposable product and may not be reused.Reuse may affect product performance and result in contamination transfer.Melgisorb Plus is sterile and must not be used if the sterile barrier is damaged or opened before use.Re-sterilization is not permitted.
