If skin allergies, eczema or mild forms of sunburn are difficult to reach or are on hairy parts of the body, the Soventol® HydroCort 0.5% spray offers practical help.The active ingredient hydrocortisone is quickly absorbed and leaves no greasy traces - just spray it on!The spray is particularly suitable for pain-sensitive and hard-to-reach skin areas and has an effective anti-inflammatory effect.It absorbs quickly and is non-greasy, making it ideal for treating sunburn, sun allergy, caterpillar dermatitis and seborrheic dermatitis.

The active ingredient hydrocortisone has a wide range of positive effects - from anti-allergic to anti-inflammatory to anti-itching.The external use of hydrocortisone has proven particularly effective for allergic skin reactions and inflammatory skin diseases.The very well-researched active ingredient is often sufficient in small doses to relieve itching, redness and inflammation.

Area of application

Soventol HydroCort 0.5% Spray contains a glucocorticoid, an adrenal cortex hormone, for use on the skin.It is used for the relief of uninfected mild inflammatory, allergic or pruritic skin diseases that respond to symptomatic treatment with very weak glucocorticosteroids.The spray is intended for short-term external use in adults and children over the age of 6.

Various skin diseases can be treated with Soventol HydroCort 0.5% spray, such as inflammatory, allergic or itchy dermatoses (skin inflammation, eczema).The active ingredient hydrocortisone has proven effective against sunburn, insect bites, itchy skin, sun allergy, neurodermatitis, itching, eczema and against skin reactions caused by the oak processionary moth caterpillar.

Soventol HydroCort 0.5% spray contains the following active ingredients and excipients: 0.15 g hydrocortisone, citric acid 1-water, disodium edetate, ethanol 96% (V/V), glycerol 85%, hypromellose, sodium hydroxide, propylene glycol and purified water.

Contraindications

The product should not be used if you are known to be hypersensitive to any of the ingredients.It must not be used for specific skin conditions such as syphilis or tuberculosis, viral infections (e.g. chickenpox, herpes simplex, herpes zoster), vaccination reactions, fungal infections (mycoses), bacterial skin infections, acne vulgaris, steroid acne, skin inflammation near the mouth (perioral dermatitis) or inflammatory redness of the face (rosacea).It is also not suitable for children under 6 years of age.Large-area and/or long-term use should be avoided.

Dosage

Recommended use of Soventol HydroCort 0.5% spray: The solution is intended for use on the skin and is sprayed onto the affected areas.Adults and children over the age of 6 can use the spray 2 to 3 times a day at the start of treatment.Once the clinical picture improves, a single application per day or every 2 to 3 days is usually sufficient.

Intake

The spray is intended for use on the skin.Application over large areas should be avoided or should be carried out as directed by the doctor.Do not apply the spray to an area larger than 1/10 of the body surface for more than a week.For further information see instructions for use.

Patient information

Particular care is required on the face, especially around the eyes, when applying to sore (intertriginous) areas, around skin ulcers and in the genital and anal areas.The spray should not be used on open wounds.Particular caution is required in children due to their larger body surface area in relation to body weight.External therapy should be administered with restraint and usually not longer than 2 weeks.In older people, special caution is required due to the weakened barrier performance of the stratum corneum.

There are no known effects on the ability to drive or use machines.

Pregnancy

During pregnancy, the use of the drug should be avoided as much as possible and, if absolutely necessary, should be used for as short a time and as small an area as possible.Since growth disorders and damage to the unborn child cannot be ruled out during long-term treatment with glucocorticoids during pregnancy, please inform your doctor if you want to become pregnant, are already pregnant or think you may be pregnant.

Glucocorticoids, including hydrocortisone, pass into breast milk. No harm to the infant has yet been reported.Nevertheless, you should only use the product during breastfeeding after consulting your doctor.If your doctor considers it necessary to use the medicine while breastfeeding, you must not use the spray on the breast area to avoid unwanted absorption by the baby.If your doctor considers higher doses necessary due to illness, you should stop breastfeeding.

Notes

No prescription is required for this product.Contains propylene glycol and ethanol.Please do not use this medicine after the expiry date stated on the pack or outer packaging.The expiry date refers to the last day of the specified month.
