Directions for use of the article Phytohustil Cough Irritation Reliever Pastilles: Phytohustil Cough Irritant Pastilles are a traditional herbal medicinal product for the relief of irritation of the mucous membranes in the mouth and throat and associated dry irritating cough. They contain the active ingredient marshmallow root dry extract. The medicine is intended for adults and children aged 6 years and over. It is important to read the package leaflet carefully and to use the medicine exactly as directed by the doctor or pharmacist. If symptoms persist or side effects occur that are not mentioned in the package leaflet, a doctor or qualified person should be consulted. Pregnant women and women who are breastfeeding should not use the medicinal product as there are insufficient data on safety. The usual dosage for adults and adolescents aged 12 years and over is one lozenge several times a day as needed, but not more than 10 lozenges per day. Children between 6 and 11 years of age should take one lozenge 3 times a day as needed. The medicine should be allowed to dissolve slowly in the mouth and, if possible, nothing should be eaten or drunk for 30 minutes after taking it. Possible side effects may include hypersensitivity reactions, the frequency of which is not known. If side effects occur, the medicine should be discontinued and a doctor informed.
