Tantum Verde 1.5 mg/ml spray is used for the symptomatic treatment of painful inflammation and swelling in the mouth and throat, especially in colds, after operations, for laryngitis and for damage after radiotherapy. The spray contains the active substance benzydamine hydrochloride. It is recommended to use the medicine 2-6 times a day, depending on the age of the patient. In adults and adolescents over 12 years of age, 4-8 sprays are recommended, in children between 6 and 12 years of age 4 sprays, and in children between 2 and 6 years of age 1 spray per 4 kg of body weight. The duration of application is usually a few days. In case of overdose, side effects such as vomiting, abdominal pain, restlessness and fever may occur. In case of poisoning, symptomatic therapy is recommended. The medicinal product must not be used if the patient is allergic to any of the ingredients. Pregnant and breastfeeding women should consult a doctor before use. The medicinal product should be kept out of the reach of children and should not be used after the expiry date. It contains the active substance benzydamine hydrochloride and other excipients such as saccharin, methyl 4-hydroxybenzoate and ethanol. The medicine has an anti-inflammatory and analgesic effect. Exposure to excessive UV-radiation should be avoided. Side effects such as increased sensitivity of the skin may occur. There may also be interactions with other medicines. It is recommended to store the medicine at room temperature and to use it within 12 months after opening.
