Jarsin 450mg contains the following ingredients: One film-coated tablet contains 450 mg dry extract of St. John's wort (3-6:1), with methanol 80% (V/V) serving as the extractant.The other ingredients are highly disperse silicon dioxide, microcrystalline cellulose, vanillin, hypromellose, stearic acid, iron (III) hydroxide oxide (E 172), titanium dioxide (E 171), lactose monohydrate, long-chain partial glycerides, soybean flour, defatted and extracted with alkali, as well as highly disperse, hydrophobic silicon dioxide.

Note: The medicine contains 0.02 bread units (BE) per film-coated tablet.

Contraindications

If you are known to be hypersensitive to any of the ingredients mentioned, the product should not be used.The medicine must not be taken if you are hypersensitive (allergic) to St. John's wort, soy, peanuts or any of the other ingredients of the medicine, if the skin is known to be hypersensitive to light or if you have severe, temporary depressive disorders.

The medicine must not be used together with the following active ingredients: ciclosporin, tacrolimus, indinavir and other protease inhibitors in anti--HIV (“AIDS”) treatment, irinotecan and other cell growth-inhibiting drugs in cancer treatment and other antidepressants.

Dosage

Recommended use of Jarsin 450mg: Unless otherwise prescribed, adults and adolescents over 12 years of age take one coated tablet twice a day.It is best to take the medicine whole with sufficient liquid (e.g. 1 glass of water) with meals.Experience has shown that it takes 4-6 weeks for the symptoms to improve significantly.

Use in children: There are no sufficient studies on the use of this medicine in children.It should therefore not be used in children under 12 years of age.

Please talk to your doctor or pharmacist before taking Jarsin® 450 mg.Jarsin® 450 mg contains lactose.While using Jarsin® 450 mg, intensive UV-radiation (long sunbathing, sunlamps, solariums) should be avoided.Women taking hormonal contraceptives and taking Jarsin® 450 mg at the same time may experience breakthrough bleeding and the safety of hormonal contraceptives may be reduced. Additional contraceptive measures should therefore be taken.Please do not use this medicine after the expiry date stated on the pack or outer packaging.The expiry date refers to the last day of the specified month.
