Area of application

This medicine contains the active ingredients calcium and vitamin D3 and serves as a calcium-vitamin D3 preparation.It is used to prevent and treat calcium and vitamin D deficiencies in older people and as an adjunct to the supportive treatment of osteoporosis (bone loss).

The preparation contains 2500 mg calcium carbonate, 1000 mg calcium ions, 8.8 mg colecalciferol dry concentrate, 880 IE colecalciferol and 22 µg colecalciferol.The following excipients are also included: Acesulfame potassium salt, alpha-tocopherol, 1 mg aspartame, phenylalanine, carmellose sodium salt, anhydrous citric acid, 370 mg isomalt, magnesium stearate (vegetable), modified corn starch, sodium ascorbate, sodium dihydrogen citrate, poly {O-[hydrogen-(oct-1-en-1-yl) succinyl] starch} sodium salt, 1,694 mg sucrose, highly dispersedSilicon dioxide, 119.32 mg sorbitol, medium chain triglycerides, xylitol, 23 mg total sodium ions, orange flavor CPB, natural orange oil concentrate, mandarin oil, tropical fruit liquid flavor, multi-fruit flavor, maltodextrin, mannitol, D-glucono-1,5-lactone, orange peel oil, orange flavorCVT, orange flavor powder.

Contraindications

The medicine must not be taken if you are allergic to calcium, vitamin D3 or any of the other ingredients.Also with increased calcium blood levels (hypercalcemia), increased calcium excretion in the urine (hypercalciuria), overactive parathyroid gland (hyperparathyroidism), bone marrow cancer (myeloma), bone metastases, prolonged immobilization of the limbs with hypercalcemia and/or hypercalciuria, kidney stones (nephrolithiasis), calcium deposits in the kidneys (nephrocalcinosis),Vitamin D overdose (hypervitaminosis D), severe kidney problems or if you are under 18 years old.

Dosage

Always take this medicine exactly as described in the leaflet or as directed by your doctor or pharmacist.The recommended dose for adults and older people is 1 chewable tablet daily (corresponding to 1000 mg calcium and 880 IE vitamin D3).Pregnant women take 1/2 chewable tablet daily (corresponding to 500 mg calcium and 440 IE vitamin D3).The daily dose of 1/2 chewable tablet must not be exceeded.The medicine must not be taken by children and adolescents under 18 years of age.

Taking this medicine is a long-term treatment.Talk to your doctor about how long you should take the tablets.

If you suspect an overdose, contact your doctor or pharmacist immediately and take the pack and any remaining chewable tablets with you.An overdose can lead to symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, feeling thirsty, increased urination, dehydration or constipation.

If you forget to take a dose, take the chewable tablet as soon as you remember, unless it is time for your next dose.In this case, just take the regular dose.Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed dose.

If you wish to interrupt or end treatment early, please consult your doctor.

Intake

The chewable tablet must be chewed before swallowing.It can be taken at any time of the day, regardless of meals.

Patient information

Please talk to your doctor or pharmacist before taking the medicine if any of the following apply to you: long-term therapy, simultaneous treatment with cardiac glycosides or thiazide diuretics, kidney problems, additional calcium and vitamin D supplements, sarcoidosis or immobilization osteoporosis.The medicine must not be taken by children and adolescents under 18 years of age.The medicine has no influence on the ability to drive or use machines.

Pregnancy

If you are pregnant, you can take the medicine in case of calcium and vitamin D deficiency.The daily dose of 1/2 chewable tablet must not be exceeded.During pregnancy, the daily dose of calcium should not be higher than 1500 mg and the daily dose of vitamin D3 should not be higher than 600 IE .Long-term overdose of calcium and vitamin D during pregnancy must be avoided as this can lead to high calcium levels in the blood and have negative effects on the unborn child.

The medicine can be used during breastfeeding.Since calcium and vitamin D are excreted in breast milk, please consult your doctor first to see whether your child is already receiving preparations containing vitamin D.
