What is a canker sore?

An aphthous ulcer is a painful, superficial lesion of the oral mucosa that is surrounded by an inflammatory border and has a whitish fibrin coating.The exact causes of the appearance of canker sores are largely unclear.However, certain factors can promote the development of canker sores, such as heredity, certain foods, physical trauma, certain medications, stress or hormonal influences.

How does URGO aphthous ulcers work?

After application, a visible, thin and flexible protective film is formed, protecting the wound from food and saliva for up to 4 hours.This film relieves pain quickly and for a long time and promotes wound healing.

URGO Aphthae contains cellulose derivative, mineral acid, carboxylic acids, alcohol, water, flavor and sucralose.

Area of application

URGO Aphthae is a ready-to-use liquid patch for the treatment of 1 to 2 aphthous ulcers less than 1 cm in diameter.

Dosage

Wipe the edge of the bottle with a spatula.Apply the remaining gel to the wound with the tip of the spatula so that the area to be treated is well covered.Let it dry for ten seconds, then close your mouth: a visible film forms.If the wound is not completely covered, repeat the process.Apply three to four times a day until complete healing (over 3 to 5 days), preferably before main meals and without removing the film of the previous application.The composition of the product eliminates the need to clean the spatula after use.

Contraindications

Do not apply to larger aphthae (diameter greater than 1 cm) or to herpes-like aphthae (aphthae of very small size in very large numbers), which require consultation with the doctor.Do not apply to infected wounds, burns, deep (bleeding) wounds.Do not use if you are allergic to salicylic acid derivatives.In these cases, consult your doctor.The use of the product is contraindicated during pregnancy and breastfeeding as well as in children.The product is not suitable for people under 18 years of age.
