Area of application

Amofin nail polish is a broad-spectrum antifungal that is used to treat fungal diseases of the nails.It is particularly effective for nail fungus, which is caused by dermatophytes and yeasts and affects up to 80% of the nail, especially in the front area.

Mode of action

Fungal infections of the nails are common and often persistent.Amofin nail polish offers an efficient way to fight the infection directly on the nail without having to take prescription tablets.After applying the nail polish, the solvent evaporates and the antifungal active ingredient amorolfine penetrates deep into the nail.A highly concentrated deposit of active ingredients is formed there, which prevents the progression of the fungal infection and enables healthy nails to grow back.Because of this depot, the nail polish only needs to be applied once a week.

Amofin nail polish contains the following active ingredients and excipients: 55.74 mg amorolfine hydrochloride, 50 mg amorolfine, ethanol, ethyl acetate, Eudragit RL, n-butyl acetate and triacetin.

Contraindications

Amofin nail polish must not be used if you are hypersensitive to amorolfine or any of the other ingredients.

Dosage

Always use Amofin nail polish exactly as directed.Unless your doctor tells you otherwise, apply the medicine to the affected fingernails or toenails once or twice a week.Fungal infections are often very stubborn, so you will need to treat them continuously once or twice a week until the nail has grown back completely healthy.This can generally take 6 to 7 months depending on the level of infestation.The nail growth rate is approximately 1 to 2 mm per month.

Application

Before the first use, you should file off the affected parts of the nail surfaces as much as possible.For all further applications you can file as necessary.Before each further use, clean the nail surface with an alcohol swab to remove any remaining polish.Remove the nail polish with one of the included reusable spatulas and apply it evenly to the entire area of the diseased nail.Close the bottle tightly immediately after each use to prevent the solution from drying out.Allow the treated nails to dry for 5 minutes and clean the spatula with an alcohol wipe after use.

A nail file used for treatment must no longer be used to care for healthy nails, otherwise healthy nails can become infected with nail fungus.Use separate disposable files to treat diseased nails.The varnish layer on the fingernails can be dissolved or removed when handling organic solvents.Therefore, when working with such products, you must wear impermeable gloves to protect the paint layer.

Patient information

There is still no experience with inflammatory changes in the area around the nails, diabetes, circulatory disorders, malnutrition, alcohol abuse or in infants and children.
