What ingredients does Ciclopoli contain?

The medical nail polish Ciclopoli contains the following ingredients: Active ingredient: 1 g of nail polish contains 80 mg Ciclopirox.The other ingredients are ethanol 96% (V/V), ethyl acetate, cetostearyl alcohol (vegetable), hydroxypropyl chitosan and purified water.

When to use Ciclopoli

Nail fungus can manifest itself as a whitish to yellowish nail bed.Ciclopoli should be applied to the affected nail and surrounding skin once daily.The varnish dries in 30 seconds and should be able to work for at least 6 hours.Any paint residue can simply be washed off with water the next morning.Treatment should be continued until complete healing, which can take between 6 and 12 months depending on the infection and the rate of growth of the nails.

How long does Ciclopoli treatment last?

Treatment of nail fungus with Ciclopoli can take between 6 and 12 months.Fingernails take about 6 months to fully heal, toenails about 9 to 12 months.The duration depends on the severity of the fungal infection and the speed of growth of the nails.It is important to continue treatment consistently until the nail is clear or almost clear again.

How often do you have to apply Ciclopoli?

How long does a bottle of Ciclopoli last for nail fungus?

With a 3.3 ml bottle content, three affected toenails (including 1 big toe) can be treated for around 3 months.

How should I store Ciclopoli against nail fungus?

Store the bottle in the folding box to protect the product from light.After each use, you should close the bottle tightly so that the contents do not evaporate.At temperatures below 15 °C the nail polish can gel.In this case, rub the bottle between your hands for about a minute until the solution becomes clear again.This does not affect the quality and effectiveness of the product.

Can I use a cosmetic colored varnish at the same time?

You should avoid using decorative nail polish while treating nail fungus.Decorative nail polishes may contain ingredients that react with Ciclopoli and make the nail brittle.Nail polish removers often contain solvents that strip moisture from the nail and dry it out, which can delay the healing process.

When you should not use Ciclopoli

Do not use Ciclopoli if you are hypersensitive to the active ingredient Ciclopirox or any of the other components of the varnish.It should not be used in children and young people under 18 years of age as there is insufficient experience in this age group.

Ciclopoli efficiently combats the annoying and stubborn symptoms of nail fungus.The active ingredient ciclopirox penetrates deep into the nail layers, down to the nail bed, to eliminate the cause of nail fungus.It kills both active fungal cells and their spores, preventing the infection from recurring.Ciclopoli acts as a broad-spectrum antimycotic against various nail fungal pathogens.

Dosage

The anti-fungal varnish is brushed onto the affected nail and 5 millimeters of the surrounding skin once a day. Let it dry for 30 seconds so that the active ingredient can absorb into the nail.Do not wash the treated nails for at least 6 hours.It is recommended to use it in the evening.Since Ciclopoli is water-soluble, residues from previous treatment do not need to be removed with solvents - you can use water for this if necessary.There is also no need to file your nails.The duration of application depends on which nail is affected and the degree of infestation.For fingernails you can expect up to 6 months, for toenails up to 9 to 12 months.

Patient information

Ciclopoli is intended for external use only.Avoid contact with eyes, mucous membranes and open wounds.The product should not be used after the expiry date stated on the packaging and should be kept away from heat and open flames.Keep Ciclopoli out of the reach of children.After first opening, Ciclopoli can be used for 6 months.Wash towels and clothing that come into contact with affected nails at least 60 degrees Celsius.Change your shoes every day so that they can air out sufficiently.If possible, avoid using cosmetic colored varnishes while using Ciclopoli.

Pregnancy

Use during pregnancy and breastfeeding should only be carried out after carefully weighing the benefits and costs with a doctor.
