Amorolfin beta 50 mg/ml medicated nail lacquer is a medicine for treating nail fungus.It is a broad-spectrum antifungal agent containing the active ingredient amorolfine.This active ingredient combats a wide range of fungi that can cause nail fungal infections.Amorolfine penetrates into and beneath the nail plate, inhibiting fungal growth and killing the fungi.This combats the fungal infection and improves the appearance of the nails.No prescription is required for this product.

Therapeutic indication

The medicine is used to treat nail fungus where up to 80% of the nail is affected, particularly in the front area.It is suitable for treating fungal infections of the nails that do not involve the nail root.

Active ingredients / Ingredients / Excipients

The nail lacquer contains the following active ingredients and excipients: 55.74 mg amorolfine hydrochloride (equivalent to 50 mg amorolfine), ammonium methacrylate copolymer (Type A), 483 mg ethanol, ethyl acetate, n-butyl acetate, and triacetin.

Contraindications

Do not use this medicine if you are allergic to amorolfine or any of the other ingredients.

Dosage

Always use this medicine exactly as directed.Apply the medicine once a week to the affected fingernails or toenails.Continue treatment until the diseased nails have grown out and are healthy.Fungal infections are often very persistent; therefore, you must continue treatment without interruption once a week until the nail has grown back completely healthy.The time required for this is generally 6 months for fingernails and 9 to 12 months for toenails.

Administration

Before the first application, you should file down the affected parts of the nail surface as much as possible.Before each subsequent application, clean the nail surface with an alcohol swab and remove any remaining lacquer.Take the nail lacquer using one of the reusable spatulas provided and apply it evenly over the entire surface of the affected nail.Close the bottle tightly immediately after each use to prevent the solution from drying out.Allow the treated nails to dry for 10 minutes.To reuse the spatula, clean it after use with an alcohol swab or a cotton ball soaked in nail polish remover.

Patient information

Nail files used on infected nails must not be used on healthy nails.The nail lacquer should not be applied to the skin surrounding the affected nail.Avoid any contact with the eyes, ears, and mucous membranes.Artificial nails should not be used during treatment.Patients working with organic solvents must wear impermeable gloves to protect the layer of nail lacquer on their fingernails.

If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, think you may be pregnant, or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before using this medicine.There is limited experience regarding the use of the nail lacquer during pregnancy and breastfeeding.This product should not be used during pregnancy and breastfeeding unless clearly necessary.
