Application of the preparation

This preparation is an over-the-counter medicine that is used to treat fungal diseases of the nails.It is particularly effective for fungal nail infections that do not affect the nail root.The active ingredient amorolfine fights a variety of fungi that can cause nail fungus.It penetrates the nail plate and nail bed, inhibits the growth of fungi and kills them.This fights the fungal infection and improves the appearance of the nails.

The preparation is used to treat nail fungus when up to 80% of the nail is affected, especially in the front area.

Active ingredients and ingredients

The preparation contains the following active ingredients and excipients: 55.7 mg amorolfine hydrochloride, 50 mg amorolfine, 482.3 mg ethanol, ethyl acetate, Eudragit RL, n-butyl acetate and triacetin.

Contraindications

This medicine must not be used if you are allergic to amorolfine or any of the other ingredients of this medicine.

Dosage and application

Always use the product exactly as described or after consulting your doctor or pharmacist.Apply the medicine to the affected fingernails or toenails once a week.Continue treatment until the diseased nails grow out healthy.

A nail file used for treatment must no longer be used to care for healthy nails, otherwise healthy nails can become infected with nail fungus.Use separate disposable files to treat diseased nails.

The layer of varnish from this nail polish on the fingernails can be dissolved or removed when handling organic solvents.Therefore, when working with such materials, you must wear impermeable gloves to protect the paint layer.

Fungal infections are often very stubborn.You must therefore carry out the treatment continuously once a week until the nail has grown back completely healthy.The time required for this is generally 6 months (fingernails) or 9 to 12 months (toenails), with the degree of infestation playing an important role.The nail growth rate is approximately 1 to 2 mm per month.

Application instructions

For external use.To be applied to affected nails.Before the first use, the diseased parts of the nail surfaces should be filed down as much as possible.For all further applications, re-file as necessary.

Before each further use, you should clean the nail surface with an alcohol swab.Remove the nail polish with a spatula, apply it evenly over the entire surface of the affected nail and close the bottle tightly immediately after each use.Allow treated nails to dry for 10 minutes.

After applying the nail polish, cosmetic nail polish can be applied as soon as the nail polish containing the active ingredients has dried.Before reapplying the nail polish containing active ingredients, the cosmetic nail polish should be carefully removed.

Nail files that have been used to treat diseased nails should not be used on healthy nails.Towels should be washed as often as possible at at least 60 °C.Shoes should be well ventilated and dried.

Patient information

Please talk to your doctor or pharmacist before using the medicine.The preparation should not be applied to the skin around the affected nail.Avoid all contact with eyes, ears and mucous membranes.

No artificial nails should be used during application.Patients working with organic solvents must wear impermeable gloves to protect the layer of the preparation on the fingernails.

All medicines can cause allergic reactions.If this occurs, stop using the medicine and seek medical advice.The preparation must not be used again.

In the case of severe nail fungal disease involving the new nail formation zone, treatment with the preparation alone is not sufficient.Please discuss with your doctor whether combination therapy with oral antimycotics is a suitable treatment option in your case.

There is currently no experience with use in infants, children and adolescents.

The medicine has no or negligible influence on the ability to drive and use machines.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding

If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before using this medicine.

There is only limited experience with the use of the product during pregnancy and breastfeeding.The product should not be used during pregnancy or breastfeeding unless clearly necessary.
