Area of application

The preparation is a medicine for the treatment of fungal diseases of the nails, provided the nail root is not affected.It contains the active ingredient amorolfine, which fights a variety of fungi that can cause nail fungal infections.The active ingredient penetrates the nail plate and nail bed, inhibits the growth of fungi and kills them.This fights the fungal infection and improves the appearance of the nails.The preparation is used when the nail is affected by up to 80%, especially in the front area.

The preparation contains 55.7 mg of amorolfine hydrochloride, which corresponds to 50 mg of amorolfine.It also contains the excipients ethanol (482.3 mg), ethyl acetate, Eudragit RL, n-butyl acetate and triacetin.

Contraindications

This medicine must not be used if you are allergic to amorolfine or any of the other ingredients of this medicine.

Dosage

Always use the product exactly as described or after consulting your doctor or pharmacist.Apply the medicine to the affected fingernails or toenails once a week and continue treatment until the affected nails grow out healthy.Fungal infections are often stubborn, so treatment must be carried out continuously once a week until the nail has grown back completely healthy.This can generally take 6 months for fingernails and 9 to 12 months for toenails, depending on the level of infestation.

A nail file used for treatment may no longer be used to care for healthy nails.The lacquer layer can be dissolved or removed when handling organic solvents.Therefore, you must wear impermeable gloves when working with such materials.

Intake

The preparation is intended for external use and is applied to the affected nails.Before the first use, the diseased parts of the nail surfaces should be filed down as much as possible.For all further applications, re-file as necessary.Before each use, clean the nail surface with an alcohol swab and remove any remaining polish.

Remove the nail polish with a spatula and apply it evenly over the entire surface of the diseased nail.Close the bottle tightly immediately after each use to prevent the solution from drying out.Allow treated nails to dry for 10 minutes.After applying the nail polish, cosmetic nail polish can be applied as soon as the nail polish containing the active ingredients has dried.Before reapplying the nail polish containing active ingredients, the cosmetic nail polish should be carefully removed.

Nail files that have been used to treat diseased nails should not be used on healthy nails.Towels should be washed as often as possible at at least 60 °C, and shoes should be well aired and dried.

Patient information

Please talk to your doctor or pharmacist before using the medicine.Nail files that are used for diseased nails should not be used for healthy nails.The preparation should not be applied to the skin around the affected nail.Avoid all contact with eyes, ears and mucous membranes.No artificial nails should be used during application.Patients working with organic solvents must wear impermeable gloves to protect the layer of the preparation on the fingernails.

All medicines can cause allergic reactions.If you develop any of the following symptoms, you need urgent medical attention: difficulty breathing, swelling of the face, lips, tongue or throat, severe skin rash.In the case of severe nail fungal disease involving the new nail formation zone, treatment with the preparation alone is not sufficient.There is currently no experience with use in infants, children and adolescents.

The medicine has no or negligible influence on the ability to drive and use machines.

Pregnancy

If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before using this medicine.There is only limited experience with the use of the product during pregnancy and breastfeeding.The product should not be used during pregnancy or breastfeeding unless clearly necessary.

Amorolfin Dexcel® 50 mg/ml active nail polish

The preparation is reliable against fungal nail infections and is only used once a week.Cosmetic nail polish can also be applied.Fungal nail infections are common and persistent, often caused by filamentous fungi that prefer warm, moist environments.Risk factors such as a weakened immune system or metabolic diseases can promote the infection.Early treatment with amorolfine is important, and regular use of nail polish supports healthy nail regrowth.

The nail polish should be applied to the affected fingernails or toenails once a week.Before the first use, the diseased parts of the nails should be filed down and cleaned with an alcohol swab.The nail polish should be applied with a spatula and allowed to dry for 10 minutes.Treatment should continue until the nail has regenerated, which generally takes six months for fingernails and nine to twelve months for toenails.

The preparation contains 55.74 mg of amorolfine hydrochloride per 1 ml of varnish.Other ingredients include ethanol, ammonium methacrylate copolymer (type A), ethyl acetate, butyl acetate and triacetin.
