Directions for use of the article Hydrotalcite-ratiopharm 500 mg Chewable Tablets. Hydrotalcite-ratiopharm 500 mg Chewable Tablets are used for the symptomatic treatment of conditions where stomach acid needs to be bound. This includes heartburn, acid-related stomach complaints, stomach ulcers and duodenal ulcers. There are a few points to remember before taking Hydrotalcite-ratiopharm. The medicine should not be taken if there is an allergy to hydrotalcite or any of the other ingredients. It should also not be taken if there is severe kidney dysfunction, a lowered phosphate concentration in the blood or muscle weakness. It is recommended to talk to a doctor or pharmacist before taking the medicine, especially in case of long-lasting or recurring stomach complaints. The recommended dose for adolescents 12 years and older and adults is 1-2 chewable tablets 1-6 times a day, when symptoms occur. The chewable tablets should be chewed well and taken with some liquid. The duration of treatment should not exceed 2 weeks and a doctor should be consulted if symptoms persist. When taking Hydrotalcite-ratiopharm, possible interactions with other medicines should be taken into account. It should be taken 1-2 hours before or after taking other medicines.
