Area of application

Hydrotalcit-ratiopharm® 500 mg is a medicine to bind excess stomach acid (antacid).It is used for the symptomatic treatment of diseases in which stomach acid needs to be bound.These include stomach and duodenal ulcers (ventricular and duodenal ulcers) as well as heartburn and acid-related stomach problems.If a stomach or duodenal ulcer is suspected, an examination for H. pylori should be carried out and, if detected, a recognized antibacterial combination therapy should be considered.

Each chewable tablet contains 500 mg of hydrotalcite as the active ingredient.The excipients include magnesium stearate, corn starch, mannitol, saccharin sodium, colloidal silicon dioxide, sorbitol, 0.04 BE total carbohydrates and black currant flavor.

Contraindications

The preparation must not be taken if you are hypersensitive (allergic) to hydrotalcite, peppermint oil or any of the other ingredients.The preparation should also not be used if you have impaired kidney function, a low phosphate concentration in the blood (hypophosphatemia) or a neurological disorder called myasthenia gravis.

Dosage
