Diclofenac PUREN gel

Diclofenac PUREN Gel is a painkiller with the active ingredient diclofenac, which belongs to the group of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs/analgesics.It is used for the external, supportive treatment of pain in acute strains, sprains or bruises in the extremity area caused by blunt trauma, such as sports injuries.No prescription is required for this product.

The gel contains 10 mg of diclofenac sodium salt, which is equivalent to 9.3 mg of diclofenac.The following excipients are also included: hypromellose, isopropyl alcohol, macrogol 7 glycerol cocoate, 250 mg propylene glycol and purified water.

Area of application

Diclofenac PUREN Gel is used for the external, supportive symptomatic treatment of pain in acute strains, sprains or bruises in the extremity area.These can be caused by blunt trauma, such as sports injuries.

Contraindications

This medicine must not be used if you are allergic to diclofenac or any of the other ingredients of this medicine.The gel should also not be used if you have breathing problems such as asthma or bronchospasm, skin reactions such as hives, runny nose or swelling of the face or tongue after taking acetylsalicylic acid or other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs.It must not be applied to open injuries, inflammations or infections of the skin, as well as to eczema or mucous membranes.Children and adolescents under 14 years of age should not use the gel and it should not be used in the last three months of pregnancy.

Dosage

Always use the medicine exactly as described in the leaflet or as directed by your doctor or pharmacist.The recommended dose for adults and adolescents aged 14 and over is an amount the size of a cherry to a walnut, depending on the size of the painful area to be treated, corresponding to 1 - 4 g of gel (10 - 40 mg diclofenac sodium).The maximum total daily dose is 12 g gel, equivalent to 120 mg diclofenac sodium.The gel is applied 3 to 4 times daily.As a rule, one application over 1 - 2 weeks is sufficient.

If symptoms do not improve after 3-5 days or worsen, you should consult a doctor.If your symptoms improve but do not go away completely, you should not use the medicine for longer than 7 days without consulting your doctor first.

If you use more than you should, an overdose is unlikely.If the recommended dosage is significantly exceeded, the gel should be removed and washed off with water.If accidentally swallowed, you should contact your doctor immediately.

If you forget to use it, do not use a double dose.If you have any further questions about use, please contact your doctor or pharmacist.

Intake

The medicine is only intended for use on the skin and must not be taken.The gel is applied thinly to the affected area of the body and rubbed lightly into the skin.Hands should then be washed, unless these are the area to be treated.Before applying a bandage, the gel should dry on the skin for a few minutes.

Patient information

Please talk to your doctor or pharmacist before using the gel.The gel may only be applied to intact, not diseased or injured skin.Eyes and mucous membranes must not come into contact with the medicine.If symptoms do not improve after 3-5 days or worsen, you should consult a doctor.

If you suffer from asthma, hay fever or swelling of the nasal mucous membranes or chronic bronchoconstrictive respiratory diseases, you are more at risk of asthma attacks or swelling of the skin or mucous membranes than other patients when using this preparation.In this case, the medicine may only be used under certain precautionary measures and under direct medical supervision.

During treatment, sensitivity to light may occur with the appearance of skin symptoms after exposure to light.Care should be taken to ensure that children do not allow their hands to come into contact with rubbed areas of skin.

The medicine has no or negligible influence on the ability to drive and use machines.

Pregnancy

If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before using this medicine.The gel must not be used in the last three months of pregnancy.During the first six months of pregnancy, the gel should only be used if absolutely necessary and your doctor has recommended it.

Diclofenac passes into breast milk in small amounts.The medicine should only be used during breastfeeding after consulting your doctor.The medicine should not be applied to the chest area or to other large areas of skin over a longer period of time.
