Directions for use of the article Diclofenac Puren Gel: Diclofenac Puren Gel contains the active substance diclofenac sodium and belongs to the group of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs/analgesics. It is used topically to treat pain from acute strains, sprains or bruises in the extremities caused by blunt trauma such as sports injuries. Certain instructions should be followed before using the gel. The gel should not be used if there is an allergy to diclofenac or other ingredients, in open injuries, inflammation or infection of the skin, in eczema or on mucous membranes, as well as in the last trimester of pregnancy and in children under 14 years of age. Certain precautions should be taken into account during application. The gel should only be applied to intact, healthy skin and should not come into contact with the eyes or mucous membranes. An occlusive dressing is not recommended. If symptoms persist or worsen, a doctor should be consulted. Persons with asthma, hay fever or other hypersensitivity reactions should use the gel with caution. The recommended dose for adults and adolescents aged 14 years and over is a cherry- to walnut-sized amount of gel 3-4 times a day, corresponding to 1-4 g of gel (10-40 mg of diclofenac sodium). The maximum total daily dose is 12 g gel, corresponding to 120 mg diclofenac sodium. The gel should be applied thinly to the affected areas and rubbed in gently. Application over 1-2 weeks is usually sufficient. Like all medicines, Diclofenac Puren Gel can cause side effects. These may include skin rashes, redness, skin inflammation, itching, scaling, drying of the skin, oedema and gastrointestinal complaints. Systemic side effects may also occur with extensive and long-term use. The gel should be stored at room temperature (not above 25 °C) and should not be used after the expiry date on the container and folding box.
