Diclofenac PUREN gel

Diclofenac PUREN Gel is a pain-relieving medicine that contains the active ingredient diclofenac.It belongs to the group of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, also known as anti-inflammatory painkillers.This gel is used topically to relieve pain from acute strains, sprains, or bruises of the extremities caused by blunt trauma, such as sports injuries.

Each gram of the gel contains 10 milligrams of diclofenac sodium, which is equivalent to 9.3 milligrams of diclofenac.In addition, the gel contains the following excipients: hypromellose, isopropyl alcohol, macrogol 7 glycerolcocoate, 250 milligrams of propylene glycol and purified water.

Area of application

The gel is used to support the symptomatic treatment of pain in acute strains, sprains or bruises in the extremities.These injuries can be caused by blunt trauma, such as sports injuries.

Contraindications

This medicine must not be used if you are allergic to diclofenac or any of the other ingredients of this medicine.The gel should also not be used if you have breathing problems such as asthma or bronchospasm, skin reactions such as hives, runny nose or swelling of the face or tongue after taking acetylsalicylic acid or other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs.In addition, it must not be used on open injuries, inflammations or infections of the skin, as well as on eczema or mucous membranes.Children and young people under the age of 14 are also not allowed to use the gel.Its use is also not permitted in the last three months of pregnancy.

Dosage

Always use the medicine exactly as described in the leaflet or as directed by your doctor or pharmacist.The recommended dose for adults and adolescents aged 14 and over is a cherry to walnut-sized amount of gel, equivalent to 1 to 4 grams (10 to 40 milligrams of diclofenac sodium), depending on the size of the painful area to be treated.The gel is applied 3 to 4 times daily.The maximum total daily dose is 12 grams of gel, equivalent to 120 milligrams of diclofenac sodium.

As a rule, one application over 1 to 2 weeks is sufficient.The therapeutic benefit over this period has not been proven.If symptoms do not improve after 3 to 5 days or worsen, you should consult a doctor.If your symptoms improve but do not go away completely, you should not use the medicine for longer than 7 days without consulting your doctor first.

No prescription is required for this product.

Intake

The medicine is only intended for use on the skin and must not be taken.Apply the gel thinly to the affected area of the body and rub it lightly into the skin.You should then wipe your hands on a paper towel and then wash them, unless these are the area to be treated.If too much gel is accidentally applied, you should wipe off the excess gel with a paper towel.The paper towel must be disposed of with residual waste to prevent unused gel from entering the water cycle.Before applying a bandage, the gel should dry on the skin for a few minutes.

Patient information

Please talk to your doctor or pharmacist before using the gel.If the preparation is applied to large areas of the skin and used over a longer period of time, the occurrence of side effects cannot be ruled out.These side effects are comparable to those that may occur when taking other medicines containing diclofenac.

The gel may only be applied to intact, not diseased or injured skin and not to open wounds.Eyes and mucous membranes must not come into contact with the medicine.If the gel gets into your eyes, rinse them carefully with water.Consult your doctor or pharmacist if symptoms persist.

You can use a bandage, but not an occlusive bandage (tight bandage).Before applying a bandage, the gel should dry on the skin for a few minutes.If symptoms do not improve after 3-5 days or worsen, you should consult a doctor.

If you suffer from asthma, hay fever or swelling of the nasal mucosa (so-called Nasal polyps) or chronic bronchial narrowing (obstructive) respiratory diseases, chronic respiratory infections (particularly coupled with hay fever-like symptoms) or hypersensitivity to other painkillers and rheumatism medications of all kinds, you may experience asthma attacks (so-called analgesic intolerance/analgesic asthma), local swelling of the skin or mucous membranes (so-called Quincke's edema) when using this preparationUrticaria more at risk than other patients.

In this case, the medicine may only be used under certain precautionary measures (emergency preparedness) and under direct medical supervision.The same applies to patients who are hypersensitive (allergic) to other substances, such as:B. with skin reactions, itching or hives.

If a rash occurs during treatment with this product, discontinue treatment.During treatment, sensitivity to light may occur with the appearance of skin symptoms after exposure to light.Care should be taken to ensure that children do not allow their hands to come into contact with rubbed areas of skin.

The medicine must not be used in children and adolescents under 14 years of age.

The medicine has no or negligible influence on the ability to drive and use machines.

Pregnancy

If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before using this medicine.

Do not use the gel if you are in the last 3 months of pregnancy.During the first 6 months of pregnancy, you should only use the gel if absolutely necessary and your doctor has recommended it.If you need treatment during this period, the lowest dose should be used for as short a time as possible.

Diclofenac passes into breast milk in small quantities; the medicine should only be used during breastfeeding after consulting a doctor.The medicine should not be applied to the chest area or to other large areas of skin over a longer period of time.
