Lemocin for sore throat is a medicine used for temporary supportive treatment of painful inflammation of the mucous membrane of the mouth and throat. It belongs to the group of oral and pharyngeal therapeutics and has an anti-inflammatory and analgesic effect. The dosage depends on the age: children from 5 to 11 years should take one lozenge every 2 to 3 hours, but not more than 3 tablets per day. Children from 12 years and adults can take one lozenge every 2 to 3 hours, but not more than 8 tablets per day. The application is made in the oral cavity by letting the lozenge dissolve slowly in the mouth. The maximum duration of use is 7 days. Lemocin for sore throats contains the active ingredients tyrothricin, cetrimonium bromide and lidocaine. It contains sorbitol and peppermint flavouring. The medicine must not be used in children under 5 years of age and in people with hypersensitivity to the ingredients or sores in the oral mucosa. Possible side effects are hypersensitivity reactions, discomfort in the mouth, skin rash and itching. Lemocin should be kept away from heat and inaccessible to children. The proper disposal of the medicine should be done in consultation with the pharmacy.
