Lemocin for sore throat is a medicine for the temporary supportive treatment of painful inflammation of the mucous membrane of the mouth and throat. It contains the active substances tyrothricin, cetrimonium bromide and lidocaine. The medicine has an anti-inflammatory and analgesic effect. It is used in the form of lozenges and should be taken by children from 5 years of age and adults. The dosage depends on age and is 1 lozenge every 2 to 3 hours for children, maximum 3 tablets per day, and 1 lozenge every 2 to 3 hours for adults, maximum 8 tablets per day. The duration of use should not exceed 7 days, except in cases of severe sore throat with high fever, headache, nausea or vomiting, where the medicine should not be used for more than 2 days without medical advice. There should be no sores in the oral mucosa and the medicine should not be used if there is hypersensitivity to the ingredients. Possible side effects include hypersensitivity reactions, discomfort in the mouth, skin rash and itching. The medicine should be stored away from heat.
