Herbion Ivy 7mg/ml is a herbal medicine that is used to dissolve mucus in coughs with sputum.It contains ivy leaf dry extract and is suitable for children aged 2 and over as well as adults.

Herbion Ivy 7mg/ml contains ivy leaf dry extract as the active ingredient.One milliliter of the syrup contains 7 milligrams of dry extract from ivy leaves (Hedera helix L., folium) with an extraction ratio of 5-7.5:1.The extractant is ethanol 30% (m/m).The other ingredients include sorbitol solution 70% (non-crystallizing) (Ph. Eur.), glycerol, sodium benzoate, citric acid monohydrate, lemon balm flavor (contains ethanol), purified water and traces of simeticone.

Contraindications

If you are known to be hypersensitive to any of the ingredients mentioned, the product should not be used.No prescription is required for this product.

Dosage

The usual dose for adolescents aged 12 and over, adults and elderly patients is 5 to 7.5 milliliters of syrup twice daily.Children 6 to 11 years old should take 5 milliliters twice daily, while children 2 to 5 years old should take 2.5 milliliters twice daily.Use in children under 2 years is not permitted.

Intake

The syrup should be taken in the morning and early afternoon, regardless of meals.It is recommended to drink plenty of water or other warm caffeine-free drinks while taking it.The bottle should be shaken well before use.

Patient information

It is recommended to speak to a doctor or pharmacist before taking the product, especially if difficulty breathing, fever or purulent sputum occurs.If symptoms do not improve after a week, a doctor should be consulted.Concomitant use with other cough suppressants is not recommended unless medically directed.Patients with kidney or liver dysfunction should discuss the recommended dosage with their doctor or pharmacist before taking it.

Pregnancy

Pregnant or breastfeeding women should ask their doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine.Due to insufficient data on the use of ivy leaf dry extract in pregnant women and nursing mothers, its use during pregnancy and breastfeeding is not recommended.
