Instructions for use for Rheubalmin® heat pads

The Rheubalmin® heat pad is used for cramps and tension in the back, hip and lumbar area as well as to relieve muscle and joint pain.The soothing deep warmth of the cushion relieves cramps and tension in the shoulder and neck area and relaxes strained muscles.The warming effect lasts up to 8 hours.

Application instructions

Open the sachet carefully by hand if you want to use the Rheubalmin® heat pad.Position the pad on the painful area and secure it to the skin using the adhesive pads.The pads take approximately 30 minutes to heat up and then provide soothing heat for up to 8 hours.The pad is only suitable for one application.

Contraindications

The Rheubalmin® heat pad must not be used on children under 12 years of age, during sleep, on areas with redness, inflammation, skin cracks, bruises or skin irritation, in conjunction with rubbing agents or heat sources, as well as on bedridden people and patients with a tendency to skin ulcers.

Precautions and warnings

Watch for signs that could lead to skin irritation and burns.Allow air to circulate over the heat pad and do not apply pressure.Stop use immediately if the heat becomes uncomfortable.If pain relief does not occur after a week of use, please consult a doctor.Carefully monitor use for people who cannot remove the heat pad on their own.Remove the heat pad before magnetic resonance imaging to avoid the risk of burns.A second application is not possible as no more heat is generated.Do not use the heat pad on injured or vulnerable surfaces.The heat pad is to be applied externally.If the ingredients come into contact with skin or eyes or are swallowed, remove the belt, rinse the affected area with water and consult a doctor immediately.

What shouldn't you do with the heat pad?

Do not burn, bend, cut, tear, microwave or bring into contact with liquids.

Attention!The Rheubalmin® heat pad is intended for single use and for external use only.A slight reddening of the skin after removing the heat pad is normal.Only after this redness has subsided should a heat pad be used again.

Consultation with a doctor

Consultation with a doctor before using the Rheubalmin® heat pad should be carried out in the following cases: if you have poor blood circulation, if you have heart disease, if you have diabetes, if you have nerve damage or restricted sensory functions, if you have skin diseases, during pregnancy or if you are taking painkillers.

Storage

Keep out of the reach of children and pets.Store in a cool place out of direct sunlight.Do not use after the expiry date.Disposal takes place via household waste.
