Gingonin 120 mg hard capsules are a herbal medicinal product for improving age-related cognitive impairment and quality of life in mild dementia. They contain a dry extract of Ginkgo biloba leaves. The recommended dose is one capsule twice daily for adults and elderly patients. The duration of treatment is at least 8 weeks. Possible side effects may include headache, dizziness, diarrhoea, abdominal pain, nausea and vomiting. The medicine must not be taken if there is an allergy to ginkgo biloba extract or during pregnancy. Precautions should also be taken if there is an increased tendency to bleed or if blood-thinning medication is being taken. There are no indications for children and adolescents. The capsules should be taken with liquid and should be taken independently of meals. The medicinal product should be kept out of the reach of children and the expiry date should be observed.
