Mode of action

The effect of the NYDA® lice spray is based on a mixture of two silicone oils of different viscosity, the 2-stage dimeticone.This mixture penetrates the breathing openings of the lice, larvae and nits and closes them, causing the parasites to suffocate.This physical mode of action is particularly gentle and does not put any strain on the human organism.A clinical study has shown that 98 percent effectiveness is achieved after just a single application and an exposure time of just 10 minutes.After the second application, the effectiveness is 100 percent.

Application

The NYDA® lice spray is used on dry hair.Spray the spray onto the hairline and massage thoroughly until the hair is completely wetted.Leave the spray on for 10 minutes.Then comb the hair with the included lice comb to remove the dead lice, larvae and nits.After treatment, wash your hair with a regular shampoo.Repeat the application after 8 to 10 days as recommended by the Robert Koch Institute.

For children

Head lice mainly affect children.The parasites can spread quickly in kindergartens, schools and during leisure activities.The NYDA® lice spray fights head lice purely physically without neurotoxins and is therefore also suitable for babies and small children.

During pregnancy and breastfeeding

Not all lice and nit remedies can be used during pregnancy and breastfeeding.However, the NYDA® lice spray can be used safely without endangering the baby's well-being.

Why must NYDA® lice spray be used on dry hair?

The NYDA® lice spray works by penetrating the lice's breathing openings and closing them.Water has a higher surface tension and therefore cannot penetrate the lice's respiratory system.If the spray is used on wet hair, it becomes diluted and can no longer be effective.Successful treatment is therefore only possible with dry hair.

Is poor hygiene the reason for lice?

No, lice are not caused by poor hygiene.They spread through direct hair-to-hair contact, regardless of the hygiene condition of the hair.The rumor that lice are a sign of a lack of cleanliness often leads to those affected not reporting the infestation and the parasites continuing to spread.

Dosage

Before treatment, all family members should be examined for lice infestation. If an infestation is identified, all affected people should be treated on the same day.Place a towel on the shoulder and neck area and spray the NYDA® lice spray onto the hairline.Massage the spray in thoroughly and leave it on for 10 minutes.Then comb the hair with the included lice comb and wash the hair with a normal shampoo.Repeat the application after 8 to 10 days.

Patient information

The NYDA® lice spray is only intended for external use.Avoid contact with eyes and mucous membranes.In case of accidental contact with eyes, rinse with plenty of water.Avoid inhaling the spray.The product is flammable and must not be used in the presence of open flames or glowing objects.Keep it away from sources of heat and ignition and do not smoke during treatment.There is a risk of slipping if spilled or sprayed.Clean affected areas immediately.

In rare cases, allergic reactions may occur.The NYDA® lice spray is suitable for all age groups and can also be used during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
