Chlorhexamed Oral Gel 10mg/g Gel is used for temporary supportive treatment of bacterial inflammation of the gums (gingivitis) and the oral mucosa and after periodontal surgery. It contains the active ingredient chlorhexidine bis(D-gluconate), which kills bacteria and ensures a germ-free oral cavity. The gel can either be applied directly to the inflamed areas in the mouth or used with a toothbrush. It reduces the number of germs in the oral cavity and helps to fight gum inflammation. The product must not get into the eye, around the eye or in the ear canal. There are some contraindications to consider, such as hypersensitivity to the ingredients or ulcers in the oral mucosa. Pregnant and breastfeeding women should seek medical advice before use. Some side effects may occur, such as taste disturbances or discolouration of the tongue or teeth. The gel should not be used for children under 6 years of age, and for children under 12 years of age only after medical consultation. It is recommended to brush the teeth thoroughly before use and to rinse the mouth afterwards to avoid discolouration of the teeth. The medicinal product must be protected from heat and used within one month after opening. It must not be disposed of in the waste water.
