Bronchostop® Sine cough syrup - for dry coughs and productive coughs

Bronchostop® Sine cough syrup is a herbal medicine that is used to relieve irritation of the mucous membranes in the mouth and throat and to promote coughing in productive coughs associated with a cold.The product is a traditional medicine registered based on long-term use.No prescription is required for this product.

Cough can occur in two main forms: dry cough and productive cough.A dry cough is caused by various triggers that irritate the mucous membranes and lead to irritation in the mouth and throat.Productive cough occurs when thick mucus forms in the bronchial tubes and they need to be cleaned.Bronchostop® Sine cough syrup helps treat mouth and mucous membrane irritations as well as dry, irritating coughs.The cough syrup is well tolerated, does not contain ethanol and is suitable for children aged 3 and over as well as teenagers and adults.

Mode of action

Bronchostop® Sine cough syrup contains marshmallow, which forms a protective film over the cough receptors in the throat and reduces the urge to cough.Thyme thins the mucus in productive coughs and promotes coughing up in the deeper airways.By combining both substances, the medicine develops its effectiveness and supports the healing of coughs.Since they act locally, they do not block each other.

The active ingredients in Bronchostop® Sine cough syrup are dry extract from thyme herb and extract from marshmallow roots.15 ml of the solution contains 0.129 g dry extract of thyme herb (7 - 13: 1), extractant: water and 0.830 g extract of marshmallow roots (1: 12 - 14), extractant: water.

The other ingredients are xylitol (E 967), methyl 4-hydroxybenzoate (Ph. Eur.) (E 218), propyl 4-hydroxybenzoate (E 216) (Ph. Eur.), raspberry juice concentrate (contains sucrose (sugar), glucose and fructose), raspberry flavor (contains propylene glycol (E 1520)), xanthan gum,Citric acid monohydrate, maltodextrin, arabic gum and purified water.

Contraindications

If you are known to be hypersensitive to any of the ingredients mentioned, the product should not be used.Bronchostop® Sine cough syrup must not be taken if you are allergic to dry thyme extract, marshmallow root liquid extract, another member of the mint family, methyl 4-hydroxybenzoate (E 218), propyl 4-hydroxybenzoate (E 216) or any of the other ingredients.

Particular caution is required when taking Bronchostop® Sine cough syrup if fever, shortness of breath or purulent sputum occur.In these cases, a doctor should be consulted.The medicine contains xylitol, which can have a mild laxative effect.It also contains raspberry juice concentrate, which contains sucrose, glucose and fructose.If you have an intolerance to certain sugars or a hereditary fructose intolerance, you should seek medical advice before taking it.

Dosage

The recommended use for Bronchostop® Sine cough syrup is as follows: Adults and adolescents aged 12 and over should take 15 ml every 3 to 4 hours, up to 6 times a day, with the total daily dose not exceeding 90 ml.Children aged 6 to 11 years should take 7.5 ml every 3 to 4 hours, up to 6 times a day, with a total daily dose not exceeding 45 ml.Children aged 3 to 5 years should take 7.5 ml every 3 to 4 hours, 4 times a day, with a total daily dose not exceeding 30 ml.

Bronchostop® Sine cough syrup should be taken undiluted by pouring the specified dose into the enclosed measuring cup.The measuring cup has a scale between 2.5 ml and 20 ml.If necessary, the medicine can also be drunk diluted in water.Self-treatment should be limited to 5 days.If there is no significant improvement, medical advice should be sought.

Patient information
