This medicine contains ginkgo leaf extract.It is used for the symptomatic treatment of impaired mental performance caused by changes in the brain.These can manifest themselves as memory problems, difficulty concentrating, depression, dizziness, ringing in the ears and headaches.It is used as part of a comprehensive therapeutic concept for progressive loss of acquired mental abilities, known as dementia syndrome.

Active ingredients and ingredients

Each film-coated tablet contains 120 mg of dry ginkgo leaf extract, prepared with 60% acetone as an extractant.The extract contains various active ingredients such as ginkgolides A, B and C, bilobalide, ginkgolic acids and ginkgo flavonoid glycosides.In addition, the preparation contains the following excipients: microcrystalline cellulose, croscarmellose sodium salt, iron (III) oxide, hypromellose, lactose-1-water, macrogol 1500, magnesium stearate, corn starch, highly disperse silicon dioxide,Simeticone-alpha-hydro-omega-octadecyloxypoly(oxyethylene)-5-(E,E)-hexa-2,4-dienoic acid water, talc, titanium dioxide, total carbohydrates (0.0057 BE) and sodium ions (1 mmol).

Contraindications

The medicine must not be taken if you are allergic to Ginkgo biloba or any of the other ingredients.It is also not permitted to be taken during pregnancy.

Dosage and application

Always take the medicine exactly as directed.Adults aged 18 and over should take one film-coated tablet twice a day, one in the morning and one in the evening.The film-coated tablets should be swallowed whole with sufficient liquid, preferably a glass of water.It can be taken regardless of meals.

The duration of treatment should be at least eight weeks.After three months, the doctor should check whether it makes sense to continue treatment.If you forget a dose, do not take double the amount next time, but continue taking it as prescribed.

Special Notes

Particular caution is required when taking the drug.It should not be used in children and adolescents under the age of 18 as there are no sufficient studies on this.The medicine must not be taken during pregnancy or breastfeeding, as there is evidence that preparations containing ginkgo could increase the risk of bleeding.

If you have a pathologically increased tendency to bleed or if you are taking anticoagulants at the same time, the medicine should only be used after consulting a doctor.As a precaution, the drug should be discontinued before an operation.If you have a known seizure disorder (epilepsy), please consult your doctor.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding

Due to a possible increase in the risk of bleeding, the medicine must not be taken during pregnancy.It should also not be used during breastfeeding, as it is not known whether the ingredients pass into breast milk.
