Directions for use of Levocetirizine Micro Labs 5 mg Film-Coated Tablets: Levocetirizine Micro Labs 5 mg Film-Coated Tablets contain the active substance levocetirizine dihydrochloride. This active substance acts as an anti-allergic and is used to treat the signs (symptoms) of allergic rhinitis (including persistent allergic rhinitis) and hives (urticaria). The recommended dose for adults and children 6 years and older is one film-coated tablet daily. The dose may be adjusted if kidney or liver function is impaired. The medicine should not be taken in cases of severe renal impairment or concomitant impaired liver and kidney function. The film-coated tablets should be taken unchewed with water. They may be taken with or without meals. The duration of use depends on the type, duration and course of the symptoms and should be determined by the doctor. In the event of an overdose, drowsiness may occur in adults and initial restlessness followed by drowsiness in children. In case of a suspected overdose, a doctor should be contacted. If the dose is forgotten, the normal dose prescribed by the doctor should be taken at the next time. Treatment should only be stopped as directed by a doctor. Levocetirizine Micro Labs 5 mg film-coated tablets contain lactose. They should not be recommended for children under 6 years of age. You should consult your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Possible side effects may include headache, drowsiness, dry mouth, tiredness, fatigue and abdominal pain.
