FRONTLINE HOMEGARD® is an effective insect spray and mite spray for the household.It is used to specifically combat fleas and ticks in the home and offers a long-term effect of up to six months.The spray can be used on non-washable furniture and home textiles such as carpets, mats and armchairs.It also reaches hard-to-reach places where flea larvae can develop into adult fleas, thus providing comprehensive flea protection in the household.

Signs of a flea infestation in pets can include increased scratching or licking, inflammatory skin changes and hair loss.Adult fleas can usually be detected through their feces.The so-called flea comb test provides evidence of an infestation: comb the animal's fur thoroughly with a flea comb and moisten a white kitchen towel with a little water.Then tap the flea comb on the cloth.If black crumbs are discovered, it could be flea dirt.Rub the crumbs between your hands with the damp cloth - if the cloth turns red, this is an indication of a flea infestation.

Fleas can be carried into the home environment by pets.But they can also stick to shoes or clothing and get into the apartment.They usually spread rapidly within your own four walls.Therefore, it is not enough to just treat the animal - certain environmental sprays and regular vacuuming, washing and cleaning of infested areas help to combat the flea infestation.

Even if all measures work together, it can take three months or longer to completely treat a flea infestation in the home.Patience and a combination of several measures are crucial, especially at the beginning.

To solve the problem, the following five steps should be followed:

1. Ensure all pets in your home are continuously treated with an appropriate product every month for at least three consecutive months.

2. Vacuum more often than usual - ideally daily - and especially in those places that your animals regularly visit.Dispose of the vacuum cleaner bags immediately.

3. Wash your animals' sleeping pillow or blanket regularly at at least 60 °C.

4. Treat your home with a household flea spray that contains an insect growth regulator (IGR), such as FRONTLINE HOMEGARD®.Don't forget to take into account all the places where your pet spends time.

5. Make sure your pet has access to the parts of the house they normally visit.Fleas found in these areas are rendered harmless when they jump onto the treated animal.

Mode of action

FRONTLINE HOMEGARD® contains two active ingredients.Permethrin, the first active ingredient, is structurally derived from the natural pyrethrins produced by certain chrysanthemum species.If a flea comes into contact with permethrin, the active ingredient paralyzes it and ultimately kills it.

(S)-Methoprene, the second active ingredient, is similar to a flea growth hormone.It reduces the ability of flea eggs to hatch and prevents the larvae from developing into flea pupae.This mode of action inhibits the reproduction of fleas.Both substances have a targeted effect on the parasite and pose no danger to humans when used as intended.

Contraindications

If you are known to be hypersensitive to any of the ingredients, the product should not be used.

Dosage

Before using the household spray, you should thoroughly vacuum the room to be treated.Close windows and open interior cabinet doors.Remove all animals and food from the room and cover aquariums thoroughly.Cookware and sensitive surfaces should be protected with a cloth.

Then shake the spray bottle thoroughly and test the product on a surface that is not directly visible.During the spraying process, keep the spray container upright and at a distance of approximately 30 cm from the surface to be treated.A spray time of approx. 1.3 seconds is sufficient for approx. 1 m². If necessary, the application can be repeated after 6 months.The environmental spray can be used on home textiles such as carpets, rugs, mats, armchairs and dog beds and is intended exclusively for environmental treatment.Children and pets should be kept away during treatment.
