How FRONTLINE COMBO® works

FRONTLINE COMBO® is the combination protection for animals and homes.After being applied to the dog's skin, the product is distributed with the skin's natural sebum film and acts like an outer, invisible protective coat against ticks, fleas and lice.For optimal distribution, the animal should not be bathed within 2 days after application.After that, FRONTLINE COMBO® - like all FRONTLINE® products - is waterproof.The parasites absorb the active ingredient upon contact with fur and skin and are rendered harmless within a few days.At the same time, the development of new flea eggs, larvae and pupae on the animal and in the animal's immediate environment is inhibited.

Why should I treat my animal for ticks and fleas?

Fleas and ticks can cause infectious and skin diseases that can be dangerous not only for people but also for dogs.For example, fleas can transmit various parasitic diseases, including cucumber seed tapeworm.But ticks can also pose a risk of illness for our velvet paws.Studies have shown that one in three ticks now carry the triggers for Lyme disease.Therefore, our four-legged friends should be treated regularly and preventively with parasite protection.

Why do I still see ticks and fleas after treatment?

Due to the principle of action of FRONTLINE COMBO®, it is possible that live ticks that have newly infested the dog are temporarily visible on the animal.However, they are rendered harmless as soon as sufficient active ingredient has penetrated the armor.If fleas are discovered on the animal, flea eggs, larvae and pupae have usually already infested the surrounding area. FRONTLINE COMBO® also inhibits the development of the flea population in your own home thanks to its combination of active ingredients.In order to interrupt the entire flea cycle, targeted environmental treatment is recommended, for example by vacuuming and washing the infested textiles every day.Using an environmental product (e.g. FRONTLINE HOMEGARD®) the flea infestation can be combated even more quickly.

How do I protect my puppy or young dog from fleas and ticks?

Puppies can also be infected with parasites. Fleas in particular can cause problems for little ones and, in the event of a massive infestation, can even cause anemia. FRONTLINE® SPRAY can be used in dog and cat puppies from the first day of life.It immediately renders ticks and fleas harmless and can be adjusted precisely to the weight of the puppy.From an age of 8 weeks and/or a body weight of 2 kg you can then switch to FRONTLINE COMBO®.

The application of FRONTLINE COMBO®

Remove a pipette from the packaging.Hold the pipette upright and bend the pipette tip downwards at the perforated point.Part the dog's fur between the shoulder blades and place the pipette directly on the skin.Then empty the pipette.From this point, the active ingredient is distributed over the entire skin with the natural sebum film within 1 to 2 days.

In order to ensure complete, optimal protection, FRONTLINE COMBO® should be used monthly in dogs.

Contraindications

If you are known to be hypersensitive to any of the above ingredients, the product should not be used.

Areas of application

Against flea infestations, alone or in conjunction with ticks and/or lice infestations.Treating a flea infestation (Ctenocephalides spp.).The insecticidal effect on adult fleas lasts for 8 weeks.The reproduction of fleas is prevented by inhibiting the development of the eggs (ovicidal effect) and of the larvae and pupae (larvicidal effect), which come from the eggs laid by adult fleas, for 8 weeks after treatment.Treatment of tick infestation (Ixodes ricinus, Dermacentor variabilis, Rhipicephalus sanguineus, Dermacentor reticulatus).The acaricidal activity of the veterinary medicinal product against ticks lasts up to 4 weeks.Treatment of an infestation with pinworms (Trichodectes canis).Use of the veterinary medicinal product as part of a treatment strategy to control flea bite allergy (FAD).
