Advantage Spot-On is a spot-on skin solution specifically designed for dogs, cats and ornamental rabbits.The active ingredient in this product is imidacloprid.It is used to prevent and treat flea infestations in dogs and cats, as well as to treat lice in dogs and flea infestations in ornamental rabbits.Advantage can also be used as part of a treatment plan to control flea allergy dermatitis (FAD) if previously diagnosed by a veterinarian.

For dogs, Advantage kills fleas within 24 hours of application and is effective for four weeks.In cats and ornamental rabbits, the fleas are killed within a day of treatment.A single application lasts three to four weeks for cats and up to a week for ornamental rabbits.

Patient information

The veterinary medicine tastes bitter.Therefore, licking the application site immediately after applying the solution may cause salivation.This is not a sign of poisoning and will go away after a few minutes without further treatment.Do not pet or brush animals after application until the treated area has dried.Wash hands carefully after use.

The veterinary medicinal product should only be applied to healthy areas of skin.The animal owner should ensure that freshly treated animals do not lick each other at the application site.

New infestations, due to the development of new fleas in the animal's environment, may last for at least 6 weeks after the start of treatment.In order to catch these fleas, more than one treatment may be necessary, depending on the severity of the flea infestation in the area.To support the therapy, it is recommended that the animals' bed and the immediate surroundings be treated with a suitable agent against adult fleas and their development stages.To reduce new infestations from the environment, it is recommended that all cats and rabbits in a household be treated.The treatment of lactating cats and rabbits also controls flea infestation on the mother and offspring.

The animal getting wet, e.g.B. after heavy rain, does not affect the effectiveness of the veterinary medicinal product.However, depending on the flea infestation in the area, repeat treatment may be necessary.In such cases, do not treat more frequently than weekly intervals.
