Centricor vitamin C ampoules 100 mg/ml solution for injection contain the active substance ascorbic acid (500 mg vitamin C) and are used for vitamin C substitution in parenteral nutrition and in methaemoglobinaemia in children. They are administered by intravenous injection and should only be used under medical supervision. Centricor vitamin C ampoules must not be used in cases of hypersensitivity to ascorbic acid or other components of the medicinal product, in cases of kidney stones from oxalate and in certain iron metabolism disorders. In the case of certain pre-existing conditions or impaired kidney function, use is only possible after consultation with the doctor. Hypersensitivity reactions and skin reactions may occur as side effects. The ampoules should be stored in the refrigerator and protected from light. The duration of use depends on the nature of the complaints and/or the course of the disease and should be agreed with the doctor. If an overdose is suspected or if side effects occur, a doctor should be contacted immediately. Further information on use and storage can be found in the package leaflet.
